Arrogant Stoke City

The FA offered them the chance to not play in the cup so that they could take part in the inaugural World Team Championship..they did put a lot of pressure on Utd. as they felt it would help the 2006 WC bid. Of course Utd had the squad to put out a decent team in both tournaments but chose to accept the 'offer'.

This Checkatrade tin pot cup is a disaster all round

Complete *******. They don't know their roots. As a club they're about the size of Bradford and smaller than ie Leeds' date=' Sheff Wed, Birmingham. Once they eventually get relegated they'll frefall and be back to the knuckle dragging core fan base of 9000 hardened racists.[/quote']

agree with everything on this thread, but i was just wondering how this thread relates to you saying 9000 of stoke fans are racist?

It is for Luton and Portsmouth who've both been fined £15,000 each for fielding under-strength teams.Another 10 clubs have been fined £3,000 each.

For Premiership clubs it's had its benefits. They might all have been selfish ones but clearly some of the Stoke youngsters benefited from playing league opposition in three games and not under 21 stuff of a lower standard, and it gave a few of their first teamers valuable game time. From their viewpoint it made sense.

You can see what they've got out of it.

For football league clubs it's been disastrous and never taken off at all. It will have to change radically or it won't be a going concern next year.

It's the usual issue isn't it of big clubs in it for themselves and blow everyone else.

Stoke's team selection for their last game in the comp was a complete disgrace and totally at odds with the supposed aim of allowing young English players a chance to play proper men's football. That Luton should be fined £15,000 for playing "weakened" teams when they actually packed their teams with young English players who had graduated through their youth system is an absolute scandal - especially when they beat Gillingham and West Brom U21, both of whom included first teamers in their squads.

Luton are fined for playing young Englishmen but Stoke and a load of other clubs get off scot free for packing their supposed U23 sides with old men and foreigners. Well done EFL - you're a bloody joke.

It beggars belief...........Where is football going outside the Premier league ? Does anyone inside the Premier league care ? Obviously not Stoke City going by recent comments coming from the bet365 ivory towers.

Suggest the Lardies closely look at today's comments from the Luton Town manager, I know who is out of touch, and it's not the guy from Luton.

Stokes comments cement what is wrong with English football, everything is run for the money grabbing Premier league, and stuff the EFL teams, non league teams, and the English national side.
