And here's me thinking we were playing against the PL Under 21s - with up to 5 1st teamers included :ohmy:

 

What financial contribution? The £28m they want to part with for a Liverpool player.

Playing devils adocate here, he probably feels that he has to say it was beneficial to their players and maybe feels like he can't come out and say it was a complete disaster and a waste of time. I also heard their u23s manager on radio stoke last week and he was saying how benificial it was to the young lads. I thought he was talking ********.

 

But looking at it realistically a blind man can see it wasn't well received and it makes him look stupid making comments like that.

 

I'm guessing that the clubs who came into it from above gave the football league a financial sweetener too.
