Over fourty years I remember some OK boxing days and some real low points. My worst before today was the eighties season following promotion to the third division away yo bury. Barry Siddall one of our worst keepers ever

Had a nightmare we berated him from behind the goal. We lost 4 nil.

My best mates mum ran the Victoria Wines ( off licence in the old times) we arrived back at about eight and got royally drunk on a whole manner of stuff I had never touched Pernod and Bacardi etc etc . I walked home as it came on snowing my dad got a mattress from my room and I slept in the living room. Very very poorly.

 

As I left the game today I tried to remember the lowest ever point I have been at in my support for Port Vale

I will no doubt plod on. With joke city's win over merchandise United today no cup run and only survival to play for its becoming a real chore to attend even if it were free.

 

Only our imminent relegation can make this worse.

 

Sorry Dickinson wish I could "shut up" but we continue to waste our time and our money for garbage.

 

 

And too the happy clappers yes I am lucky to have a club, Bill bratt, insolvency, forever in the debt of smurfgod. Blah blah But can things get much worse. .?

You really think this is the lowest point!? God help you. Half way up league 1 is about where I expected us to be this season. Why are you expecting different?

 

Every time we lose, the posts on here become more & more ridiculous. This being the stupidest I've seen for a good while.

Due to our bigger budget than Walsall, Burton or indeed Coventry I expected us to have an ability to be top six I expected to be able to have a leader who could inspire a team to beat a team on less money from a lower league and bring FA cup television to our club. I expected that we would have a manager who could inspire a team to have pride in the badge. My expectation will never be that I pay money for any mid table product. I would except mid table only if I could see a farme work for next season. If I am missing one please explain.

1983. Colin tartt sent off and 4-0 down at Preston and back on the exec coach with 15 left to play watching bridge over the river qwai. That took some beating.we're an average div 3 team with poor gates. Exactly where we were 43 years ago when I went my first game.

Does anyone remember when Vale were in the old Third Division and lost at home to Blackpool 6-1? That was one of the most lowest and most humiliating experience I can remember

6-0 down at half time at Turf Moor when we'd got 6 points from our first 15 games and were bottom and rapidly sinking without a trace. There was no internet then though so no mass suicides in Burslem.
