I, like many others feel a little sorry for Chris Neal after the last couple of excellent seasons for us but he may now have to play second fiddle to Jak, when he's fit and able. Does this also mean that we now "offload" one of the youngsters? Will Boot and/or Johnson attract some interest in the lower leagues to further their futures?

Thank you Norman :). U have learnt from your mistakes about not letting our top players go on free transfer in January or the summer. Pleased we have decided to offer Alnwick a two and half year deal at Vale. He could be worth millions in the future. It would help him and the club out in the future. I can see us letting Boot going out on loan in a few weeks and selling Sam Johnson in the transfer window.

 

My ideas for January transfers window :

If Andoh does get sold for 2.5 million. I would like us to try and bring a striker with some of that money e.g. Omar Bogle who has been impressing at Grimsby Town recently. I can't see us relying on Uche to be our main threat. I really hope we can keep Uche till the end of the season.

To sell Johnson because we don't need 4 keepers in our squad. I would let Boot to go out on loan as well.

Good news on Alnwick, has looked excellent since coming in.

 

I honestly don't see us 'selling' Johnson in the true sense of the word. I think he cooked his goose in pre-season with the poor performances, if anything I'd expect him to be unloaded on a free transfer or if another club could take over his contract/have him on loan for the rest of the season?

 

I'm perhaps being harsh but again it begs the question why was a offered a deal in the retained list(with 2 or 3 others) who also should have been released? Page must have had his doubts even before Timmins came in and ran his eye over the keepers. Obviously it complicated the issue with Neal getting injured(which meant we had to sign someone else) but having 4 keepers at a league one club is a bit ridiculous!
