Re Perry Deakin - Can anyone shed any light?

With Deakin's bankruptcy revealed yesterday I can't work out if this is good (Begbies Traynor) or bad (they're trying to discharge liabilities)

 

Bad IMHO, you can guarantee they've put assets in someone else's name or moved them off-shore the cheating, lying shysters!!

This is not "our" Peter Miller. In February Begbies Traynor were asking for help in tracking down Miller yet the petition linked above was filed in January with the bloke's address on it.

I'm not sure how but Miller búggered off back to the USA when he walked out of Vale over Christmas 2011. They don't seem bothered about kicking him out so he must have some grounds to be there.

 

His new address (he moved house during the summer) was passed on to the relevant people some time ago. He isn't exactly hiding, he put it on the website of his wife's business.

 

It wasn't difficult to track him down. Or the youtube video of him.

Potentially. We don't the circumstances. He may have hidden assets,transferred them to his Mrs/ family members . This is just the beginning.

I guess it's not a massive consolation but for me, as a "glass half-full" person it's still a small victory and a step in the right direction even if the money hasn't been repaid.

 

He's had to declare himself bankrupt (which isn't going to help him - bankruptcy prevents you from doing lots of things like being a company director doesn't it?), if he had assets and he's transferred them then he's had to go through the hassle and expense of doing all that (it's surely not simple or cheap to transfer mortgage deeds and so on).

 

So, although the ultimate goal of getting him to pay-up hasn't happened yet, I wouldn't imagine he's had it easy in the last few months. And ultimately he's been reminded that this matter isn't going to go away - which I think is the strongest message of all for him and Miller.

Exactly,bank and credit cards taken off him.Begging for food and clothes.On his credit rating for 6 years.One can hope his wife kicks him out into the gutter where filth belongs.

Strangely Nick, folks respect your opinion on this sort of business, but apparently not on the the state of the club now. Hmmmmm....Prophet without honour springs to mind.
