Adams is and should be regarded a Vale legend for what he did with us:

First season - Turned us around from a team diving towards non league into a side chasing the play offs until the last day.

Second season - Cruising towards promotion until Sheff United came calling...

Third season - Steered the club through the darkest days as we plunged to administration by keeping us safely midtable.

Forth season - miracle promotion with no money, no kit, no players until the final days of pre season... And some of the performances were incredible.

Fifth season - 9th in league one baring a poor period after New Year we might have even achieved more but considering the amount of money a lot of rivals had it was another great campaign.

To slate him on this seasons spell would be short sighted. The man deserves legend status and I'm pretty gutted it hasn't worked out for him.

Yes he did a good job for us and noone can deny that but legend NO.....John Rudge now he IS a legend for what he did for us

I agree with Karl, Micky did a very good job for us people should respect that. Certainly not a legend in my eyes but did well in some dark times for our club. Life goes on and Vale and he have moved on. I'm sad it hasn't worked out for him at Tranmere but that is football management I suppose you win some, you lose some. Someone who has achieved 5 promotions in his time as a manager must have some qualities. Very few managers get every job right, especially in the lower leagues. I wish Micky well and hope he find another job in football!

Apparently you would have him like a shot, you would also take Glover,

" Anyone. Seriously anyone would be less of a gamble that keeping page. He's awful " this is what you said when asked who you would have in place of Page.

Be careful what you wish for

Hang on guys !!!!!

We went 19 years without a promotion (only Coventry gone longer) he got us THAT promotion so let's not let ourselves down with stupid comments.

Correct OAP, some folks have very short memories, Micky Adams did a great job in his time at Vale and will be remembered fondly by myself!

They say the word legend is overused nowadays. This thread is a clear example.

A man who aggressively swore towards those who paid his wages, left the club at the first sign of a few more quid, described the **** who nearly destroyed this club as "the best chairman he's worked under" and limped towards a promotion after Pope's goals dried up is described as a legend.

Rudge is a legend. Sproson, Walker, Kirkham.

Not Micky Adams.

No more than a run-of-the-mill, journeyman lower-league manager who prioritised work over any degree of technical ability. Get a grip.

Exactly my thoughts.

Very unlikeable man, aggressive towards fans when things didn't go well, ****ed off to Sheff Utd half way through a season, his vendetta against Morsy, left us with our current squad (which the general consensus is that it needs a complete overhaul) and has probably relegated Tranmere.

tranmere were bottom when he joined them so a bunch of ******* idle scousers wouldn't do as asked, you do talk some tripe.
