I respect what Micky did and he deserves more respect on this site. He worked wonders for Vale on a limited budget. Nobody knows for sure what happened at Tranmere. Hope things resolve for all parties. Vale our priority starting next Saturday.

Gordon Lee is up there for me as a legend, took the side up from the bottom of the old 4th div, the club was on its backside when he turned up,and he respected the supporters, what few there were.

Apologies I was using poetic license! Perhaps four in 55 years would illustrate the point more accurately! The point people forget is how infrequent an event a PV promotion is - once every 10 yrs or so. To illustrate the point my 21 year old son has only seen one promotion and that was under Micky Adams. The great man managed three promotions & I know and he's undoubtedly our best Manager in my memory but MA deserves respect for what he did for our club and it rankles me when people slag off his achievement of winning promotion when we started the season in Administration.

Had social media of been around when JR was relegated from the second tier the usual OVF numpties would no doubt have been baying for his head. I wonder how long we'll have to wait for our next promotion?

They deserve to remain in Port Vale folklore. If it was not for these Ex-Vale we would not have the history we have today. But please, no more talking about Adams or Pope as legends..they are not.

This was expected last nite on the Tranmere forum, he got loads of abuse during and after the match yesterday, eggs thrown at his car etc, apparently.........
