Adams walks..

From dictionary.com:

Legend (noun)

6. a collection of stories about an admirable person.

7. a person who is the center of such stories: e.g She became a legend in her own lifetime.

So it is just a question of deciding if Micky Adams is an admirable person I guess.... He has been the centre of several stories at Vale...

So has gannon/glover/bratt/lloyd/miller and several others over the years.... that wont elevate them to legendary status for me... as someone has said its probably more of a personal feeling than anything tangible... but as they say... one mans meat...

The term legend should be used in terms of the club's history, not your own personal supporting history. Otherwise a person who only started supporting last August might say Mark Marshall is a legend, Michael O'Connor is a legend, Chris Neal is a legend, etc. Very good players yes, legends never.

Micky Adams did a wonderful job in getting us promoted in the circumstances but he was only in a position to do that because he completely ballsed up the job at Sheff United having left us in the lurch mid season. Legends don't bugger off for the cash.

He didn't, he buggered off for his boyhood club. I respected that personally as he left us in a great league position.

Personally I'd respect anyone for doing that, including your good self if you left to manage the Geordies (you couldn't do a worse job than Carver!).

although I don't class Micky a legend there is no doubting he was the right man for us when all things Port Vale were at an all time low - a kind of 'Churchill' to the rescue so to speak.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for him at Tranmere, and wish him and his family all the very best for the future

Carver's just lost his last 6 games so I think he should do the honourable thing.
