A great point but regret to say that both their goals were gifted by Chris Neale's failure to deal with crosses that were clearly goalkeepers balls. He may well have been fouled for the second goal but had he collected the ball, as he should, then Duffy would not have been sent off. A double whammy. I do rate him as a goalkeeper but he must learn to control his box.

Absolutely fantastic result, coming from behind twice, playing about a quarter of the game with 10 men and showing that cheating **** Garner how you get penalties.

If you'd offered me 3 points from MK Dons, Scunthorpe and Preston a few weeks ago I'd have taken it. Picked about the hardest way to get the 3 points though.....

Some PNE fans NOT happy (shame) - http://www.pne-online.net/forum/showthread.php?93609-Match-Day-Thread-Port-Vale-v-preston-North-End-17-4-15-KO-7-45PM/page42

Sat in the car park in disbelief at how repetitive this negative capitulation is becoming.

We repeat the same behaviour time and time again and get the same, incredibly frustrating result.

It was bad enough against Gillingham, but this was worse. Port Vale were devoid of quality and we practically engineered the point for them by sitting back, hoofing and hacking balls anywhere the minute they came anywhere near us. And they had ten ****ing men.

Credit to Grayson for signing the likes of Beckford and Johnson, but shame on him for not ridding this team if its major failing - a dismal inability to build upon or hold a lead.

A great point won hard tonight. We stood off and showed too much respect in the first half and too many passes went astray. Don't know what was said at half time but the improvement was massive. pressed PNE hard and fought our way out of trouble. Well done to all the players, Not pretty to watch but exciting stuff at times.

First half was very poor. Men against boys.

Second half was better, if only due to the individual character and determination of individuals such as Collins, Brown, O'Connor and Marshall. All of these never stopped tonight. Marshall's workrate was phenomenal all night, he's one of the most hard-working players we've had at Vale in a long time. Pope did give us an actual target for our crosses and hoof balls which we had lacked in the first half.

Overall, it would appear we have fought, battled and worked our way to safety. Well done lads.

We've had draws again MKD and Preston. Tonight We have beaten the 5 minutes extra time hoodoo . Players have had a fantastic 2nd 50 minutes.

Coming back twice from a goal down and having 10 men for a long while . It shows they can man up.

Now - why shouldn't we finis the season on massive high against Fleetwood after such worrying times.

Are Fleetwood any bigger, better or more dangerous than MKD and PNE - No ! so keep the ball rolling - dont loose at Yeovil and beat Fleetwood .

End the season on a small undefeated run

Excellent atmosphere second half, deserved a point after that. Not sure they played like a promotion chasing side.

What was Chris Neal playing at? He didn't catch one cross and put us under pressure constantly. He made a couple of good saves but he cost us both goals tonight.

First half it did seem as if there was a gulf in class between the teams but although we couldn't keep the ball and they pressed us hard all over the pitch they didn't actually create a lot that was clear cut, just a lot of corners and crosses into our box.

We defended quite well and the lad Collins has made a huge difference to us. Very good player. We managed to go in only 0-1 down which was an achievement of sorts.

In the second half it was a different game. We played better and Pope made a big difference. I suggest his critics on here need to watch the game better to understand his contribution to the team, even when half fit. His substitution made the difference.

But everyone put in a big effort and the two penalties we got were correctly given. I did wonder if their lad would get a red for fouling Pope, as he was the last man but no such luck.

Our ten men played better than eleven! It wasn't particularly deserved at half time but by 90 minutes I thought our prodigious effort in the second half deserved rewarding. The players kept going manfully until the end and didn't throw in the towel.

It was a great point with ten men. Unfair to pick out individuals really but Collins was a rock at the back. Dicko is doing better lately.

O'Connor in midfield. Pope when he came on. And all action Mark Marshall who must run more miles in one game than any other player I've seen.

It was a very hard won point and totally unexpected at half time. Like the MK Dons game you came away feeling quite elated that we'd done so well.

The game was turned on it's head when Popey came on. In the first half we didn't have a forward line as our front two were too lightweight and 'powder puff'.

For me tonight shows just how much we need Tom to be signed up for next term.

In regard to Chris Neal both of their goals should have been disallowed for obstructions on the keeper.

Thanks Vale for not letting that horrible team get the three points that would have pretty much sealed promotion.

A lot will depend on tomorrow's results. Looks like Yeovil will still be the key game to determine whether Page has taken us from a bottom 6 team to a botto
