Great point in the end and enter stoning second half! Good atmosphere too! That second half showed why we want to be in this league, nail biting stuff, bigger opposition, big following, leads to a better atmosphere. However, I have to say that first half performance was one of the worst I've seen from a Vale side! Did we even get within 20 yards of their goal? Let's be honest if we were a Preston fans we would be questioning how we didn't win. Think we need to just crawl over the line to safety and then a clear out is a must in this summer!! Campion/Williamson compared to Beckford/Garner says it all for me folks.

The effort the players have put in with 3 games in 6 days has been tremendous. If they compete like that for the last 2 games then we will be ok. I would give Page a 12 month contract as I think he is still learning and I feel he will come good. I would though try and get Michael Brown signed up as his number two on a player/ assist manager role and ditch Grew and Glover.

Fantastic effort by Michael Brown tonight against preston. Held the ball up by the corner flag for a minute. Lost possession for preston to have a goal kick, but then sprinted back to the half way line , in the 90th minute , and won the header from the goal kick! His determination and will to win has won us our league one status tonight , along with O Connor's mental confidence!

 

Worrying thing is, I can't see us getting the same amount out of him one year on. His engine for his age is un-effin-believable !

Yeah, maybe. She was looking forward to it though, and does have to rule out doing anything together on a Saturday afternoon for 3/4 of the year... Never again though.

What is also a double bonus by getting a point is with PNE dropping points MK and Swindon will now have something to play for against the teams below us for longer (and PNE).

A great point but regret to say that both their goals were gifted by Chris Neale's failure to deal with crosses that were clearly goalkeepers balls. He may well have been fouled for the second goal but had he collected the ball, as he should, then Duffy would not have been sent off. A double whammy. I do rate him as a goalkeeper but he must learn to control his box.

 

Totally agree Neal is static on his goaline and I hate keepers doing that. When he does come to collect a cross he didn't catch it.

come off it we aren't playing in Europe, a more observant ref would have noticed the handball for their first goal and the foul on neal for their second, they are noted for being a dirty side especially with garner up to his tricks,i hope they are promoted because if garner tries it on in the championship he'll get worked over big time. we did well to get a point, one of the hardest points we'll probably get this year.

Michael Brown probably my MOTM. Not so much for what he did do, but for what he didn't. It was obvious that he had been targeted by them and he spent most of the first half getting up from 'tangles' caused by their players. He did supremely well not to react. Also, a special word for the Referee who I thought was the best I've seen this season.
