What will the moaners moan about now? Champion was shiiiiit. Thankfully Popey came on and let their defence know they were in a game.

 

The ref was shocking , but were used to that at Vale park.

 

Still very pleased tk take points off such scummy horrible side. I hate these more than Bradford after that cheating performance

 

If I remember correctly nobody wanted Campion to play because he was amazing, people including me just wanted the lad to be given the chance that he deserved, to be fair to him hes played against some strong sides and today he didnt look the part. Again in his defence, he is a finisher and hasnt really had a chance to score yet, but I agree today he was bossed by their defenders. Agree with the rest.

 

Did anyone else notice we passed the ball more with 10 men, perhaps we should start with 10 every week?

 

Yeah I thought we were very average with 11, first half 11. As soon as we got the red card we passed it nicely and looked a decent side.

Also Id like to mention a bit of praise for Collins, he came in for quite a bit of stick on here after the Orient match, but since then has been excellent, a real rock, was brilliant against MK, apparently solid against Scunny and very good again tonight, would like to see if we could sort a deal out for him next season, a potential centre back partnership of Collins and Innis.

First half we were awful. Pope coming on changed the game. All 3 penalties were dubious. I thought Neal touched it on to the bar. It was like pinball.

Williamson was not worth being on the field. Coulibaly is not tough enough or intelligent enough for this level.

 

Good calm penalties. Two more wins needed then we need a clean sweep behind the scenes.

No it isnt obvious at all. People want page sacked because we lost 6 matches in a row to some of the worst sides in the league.

Its comments like that that really grind on me. You have just seen the lad for 20 minutes against 2nd in the league and we had ten men, how can you make a judgement on someone who has looked excellent in his other appearances? Not tough enough or intelligent enough based off twenty minutes? Not having that. Williamson we know isnt good enough, but at least again there was a huge amount of effort there.

he's played 3 very tough games in a week straight out of the sticks without a proper pre season, I seem to remember popey not performing to the best of his ability until he had a full on adams pre season, he may come good but him and willo aren't a league one strike pairing in any way shape or form but at pres they are the only ones on the books as tom aint fit by any means.

Fantastic effort by Michael Brown tonight against preston. Held the ball up by the corner flag for a minute. Lost possession for preston to have a goal kick, but then sprinted back to the half way line , in the 90th minute , and won the header from the goal kick! His determination and will to win has won us our league one status tonight , along with O Connor's mental confidence!

we have pretty much given the title to b-city aswell there crowd 2moz will be imense but this has made it alot easier for us with easier games coming up

Great point in the end and enter stoning second half! Good atmosphere too! That second half showed why we want to be in this league, nail biting stuff, bigger opposition, big following, leads to a better atmosphere. However, I have to say that first half performance was one of the worst I've seen from a Vale side! Did we even get within 20 yards of their goal? Let's be honest if we were a Preston fans we would be questioning how we didn't win. Think we need to just crawl over the line to safety and then a clear out is a must in this summer!! Campion/Williamson compared to Beckford/Garner says it all for me folks.

The effort the players have put in with 3 games in 6 days has been tremendous. If they compete like that for the last 2 games then we will be ok. I would give Page a 12 month contract as I think he is still learning and I feel he will come good. I would though try and get Michael Brown signed up as his number two on a player/ assist manager role and ditch Grew and Glover.
