I read Robbie Earle's article today in the paper and he said at Wimbledon when they went on a bad run Kinnear would just make sure they kept clean sheets. 5 of those and we stay up, ugly yes but it will do the job.

 

Making sure vale keep clean sheets is no easy task though. Worzel Gummage has cleaner sheets than us.

I have to say considering Grew is a goalkeeping coach in all my years I have never seen one of our goalkeepers improve. Most were good when they started and then regressed. I'm really hoping for a miracle and the match against scunny could be our saviour.

Whether we survive or not a fresh backroom staff and outlook are needed IMO.

Totally agree. When Yates and Dickinson go forward they struggle to get back and when Yates goes forward his delivery is usually poor. Given the problems we have defensively I'd prefer defenders to defend at the moment.

There is more chance of Santa Claus and the jolly green giant running naked across the pitch at half time than us keeping five clean sheets in our remaining games REP :D

 

If we kept all 11 behind the ball we would still concede from a set piece or score an own goal. We dont have the right type of players to try that strategy.

He isnt going to play Campion so its either Dodds and Pope or Willo and Pope, now be serious you surely cant think willo is a better finisher than Dodds and its finishers we need at the moment not headless chickens.

With Willo there is no end product. blind alleys, miscontrol, loss of nerve, misplaced passes, weak finishes and mistimed attempts to head the ball yes, clinical finishing no no and more no.

Rudgie used to do exactly the same. Eventually you get your confidence up.

I agree those players didn't fit in but all went on to play for other clubs and I only said reasonable success not world beating.
