I think one club men are a special thing and if I was him, I wouldn't throw that away for a few extra quid on top of his already vast fortune.

If he does go to the MLS, I just hope he doesn't try and make out it's for any other reason than cash. I'm still laughing at Beckham's "I want to change football in America"! Pele and Best couldn't manage it for ****s sake!!!

I've been to Houston Dynamo a good few times and it was poor stuff. League One at best, no offense to L1. Attendances hover between 14- 19,000,

but the passing is bad, no creativity, and hardly any atmosphere, except for the Mexican band that plays for the full 90 mins. Some of the Houston players are on $20,000 a year, and the biggest earner is probably Brad Davis at $100,000 a year. The Academy is very poor, with a high level of fitness but very little skill. It can only be for the money if Gerrard comes over here, and I think he should stay in England.

I agree. The story has taken up ten minutes of sky sports news from the hour, apparently it's not 100% the MLS so we'll see.

I thought it might come to this.Rodgers v Gerrard. Its seems Liverpool are taking the easy and cheap option.Sliippy, until recently, has been one of the Premiiership's top 5 players.Rodgers hasn't replaced Goofy and IMO he will find it harder to replace Slippy.

Best all round player the Premiership has seen when he was at the peak of his powers. People go on about Scholes, who was superb, but when did you see him winning games for United virtually on his own as Gerrard has done for Liverpool time after time over the years. Shoot, run, pass, tackle, head, he could do absolutely everything.

Can't wait for the thumbs down from the anti-Liverpool virgin brigade here. :D

Genuine question, Beechy. Is it true that he didn't go through with his proposed transfer to Cheatski because he and his family were threated by some L'pool mobsters if he were to leave?

I don't exactly have 'contacts' in Liverpool haha. But I believe it does have a lot of truth to it. Liverpool along with Glasgow has the biggest criminal underworld in the UK and this sort of nonsense happens more than most would probably believe.
