Match Thread - Port Vale v Burton

Bradys interview....we had enough big chances to win it.

Hmmm...we were bypassed and overrun in MF. Hall stuck out on the wing. I'd have preferred to play him through the middle, stick Waine out on the side, and play 2 up front(Stockley and Gray)

Burton should have won today and our CB pairing is hampered with Hall...he is so slow, cannot tackle and it is hoofball.

Not a fan of Ojo...most times when he passed it forwards,he gave it away...otherwise it is sideways...slowly.

Positives? Archer,Waine, Campbell,John

9 points behind the team in front with 18 games left

Two cup games this week...I'd play Sheriff,Campbell and Gray for some minutes

Shipley,Headley,Heneghan etc...all of those still being paid a wage

Today's game clearly showed how poor we are. Yes, we showed a bit more fight, but we are still so pedestrian in midfield, still passing back instead of pushing forward (a small example, but a number of times we were in attacking positions with thow-ins in their last third of the pitch, yet on every one of those occasions, the ball ended up back with our goalkeeper and not theirs!) And we're clearly lacking in quality  and confidence.

Burton are not a good side with a very shaky defence, yet were unlucky not to have won today. Their passing was much sharper than ours and they were the team chasing the win in the last minutes of injury time, not us. Only the woodwork and their poor defending saved us!

Getting really sick of Humphreys losing his man who then scores. He’s like Iacovitti in that regard. That second goal was terrible from him.

I wouldn’t keep a single one. Before anyone cries about Stockley he is not the player he was and isn’t the answer.

Squad will be unrecognisable next season with any luck.

Ojo and Croasdale today were shocking. How we can ever win a game with this midfield pairing i will never know. One a season is not good enough by the way.

Always stated you build a good team down the spine of a team

Gauci         Hall    a n other         Ojo    Croasdale       one up front on his own

Say no more

They had better players all over the pitch than us. Burton Albion. Let that sink in.

Beesley is the fifth highest goal scorer in the league. Before the games Adam Yates said that Burton had recently turned down a £1m bid for Shade.

Gauci is a decent keeper for this level but his kicking leaves a lot to be desired, if he can’t keep the ball in play just kick it down the middle then it could go left or right.

Why Oh why is it ?     He has been here a reasonable time now to realise no matter what he does it goes Left. Everyone in the League knows it.   When Kicking from the Bycars he should aim for the half way Touch line on the Railway as it would go in the centre circle . How in the name of God he cannot change it is beyond me - Premiership ?  International ?   No wonder they let him come Vale - just to stop him infecting their huge squad with an inability to improve.

Would love Beesley in the Vale, bullied us at Rochdale those years back, a younger more mobile Stockley.

Shade was meh today, did think was it the 7 who had some pace and burst through the midfield at times was decent.

Its not exactly going to get him fired up for our cause though is it.

I think hes crap, but i think its absolutely ridiculous to boo him on to the field.

Frustrating that we struggle to find players of this ability.

Garbage from the manager with his lack of in game management and substitutions.

For a game that was so important where a win was desperately needed and against a bottom of the table rival.

Garbage

Another troglodyte post from you. Utterly thick as usual.

You'd probably still abuse him if he were your milkman.

One of our other catalogue of errors in the close season. Anyone with half a brain knew that we needed a deputy for Stockley. But we faffed around with Cole, brown and Faal. Ludicrous.
