Port Vale v Gillingham match thread - 3rd May

Featured Replies

We all know the numb nuts who will be on the packet from 10am tomorrow morning will be flying onto the pitch regardless of what happens dont know why anyone is trying 13k home fans your not going to get through so everyone. Never understood it myself. Think the scenes for the weekend with fans in the stand look ten times better than watching grown men chase their favourite players on the pitch. But your all wasting your breathe trying to persuade them not too.

Oh well, off to bed now. Sleep tight Vale fans, tomorrow is a big big day.

To be honest I can see it from both sides.

Went on v Northampton, and Swindon, but it was elation from all the support given throughout the season ,cannot remember anyone saying you not allowed  go on though .

It seems rather petty in some respects ,people are happy, they want to carry the players joyfully across the pitch ,so I can see where there coming from if Stoke get relegated which they may do,(don't personally think they will) then the reason to run on, be even greater for some of the support ,

However if win title ,I would prefer Carol to have not have a big bill of the F.A, so the fact that she has virtually told folk don't go on, and the police have said the same, well they have diluted my desire go on, as really it makes no difference to me as I ain't paying the bill ,but if it means Vale have to pay money out, better spent elsewhere then to me folk will not go on as common sense will prevail.

Go on next week on civic reception

We will see anyway I hope the players are not affected too much, by this what this  seems to me a  trivial thing .

We want the title, and if Notts are doing anything at all, the noise will go through the roof ..

I'm looking forwards to seeing the dressing up and the joyful and drunk Vale contingent today

Enjoy it I cannot go telling over excited people what do .

Let's hope there's a reason come 17.00 for a big party title winning trophy presentation,I certainly aint going tell grown people ,what to do let's hope those who choose go on have deep pockets ,as most will not go on for the love of Carol.

Rightly so I'd say ...

Does anybody know if the match is being shown in any pub in Burslem tomorrow?

Post Office Vaults have posted on social media they will be showing the game. I'm sure others will too

Pitch invasions for the sake of it is just ridiculous however.... last minute goal to win a 1st league title in generations - yeah damn right!!

Ask Aidan Stone if he enjoyed the pitch invasion or if he would have preferred everyone in the stand.

Would Tom Pope rather all the fans stayed in the stand at the end when we won promotion against Northampton?

Time and place.

Sorry - have I landed on the wrong thread. Is the game thread or running on the pitch thread...??

Beautiful start to the morning and a great day to play beautiful football and win the league title.

Come on you cheeky, cheeky whites.

I personally can see it from both sides. We obviously dont want a massive fine for the club but on the other hand, I will be taking my son today who will be experiencing his first promotion (i know it doesn't happen often) and if fans do go on the pitch it is just an amazing experience and memory to have as I had with the Northampton and Swindon games. These days live long in the memory and I just hope we have the best day possible. By that I mean we win the title and stoke go down 😉. I hope everyone has a brilliant day! UTV!!!!!!!!

Just noticed we're on the live Sky red button today.....💯❤️

WORTH a year's sky subscription in ITSELF to us exiles.......🧐🧐😌😌💯❤️

I am travelling up from Aylesbury today by car, but I am hearing of all sorts of road closures around Vale Park. I have my parking space booked on the Vale car park. So just wondering what is the best way of getting to the ground. I had originally planned to come off the D road and up through Middleport but don't know if that is going to be the best way now. Any ideas please

Best bet Worlds end is to come off the D road at Tunstall and work your way back. That's what I'm doing but don't tell anyone 😁 Definitely a day to get there early. UTV

I wouldn't come off at the Burslem turn. Take the tunstall/ kidsgrove turn and come through tunstall. Alternatively take the hanley at Basford come that way round.

Watching TV this morning and FALKIRK have won promotion to Scottish Premieeship last night after a 3-1 victory over HAMILTON ACADEMICALS for the first time since 2010. Their fans invaded the pitch at full time joyous and boisterous celebrations good natured. Same as Will be seen at VP today. So FA what is the problem? It's the end of the season and it's a celebration. In the crazy world that we now live in. Should it not be good for everyone's mental health to have some joy in the world.

I might try that way but doesn't that bring you out onto high lane?(someone says that is closed off,it wasnt on thursday) is High Lane fully closed to all traffic...... stressful this is 🙂
