Wigan (A) match thread - 6th April

Recommended Posts

Cambridge being 5 points clear could actually work in our favour, in a very optimistic way. We might need to win on the last day, they might already be safe, not going 100mph in a winner stays up stressful 90 mins. Away at VP with a big crowd. Clutching at straws I know.

So we have on the beach Exeter. Cheltenham have 4 of the worst form sides in the division to play.

Stevenage have fallen off a cliff and are perfect current opponents.

I'm more clinging to a miracle reeling in of Cambridge or Shrewsbury rather than Cheltenham.

Exeter, Peterborough Bolton and Wycombe... Couldn't be easier before the showdown with Cambridge! 🫣

However garbage Cheltenham are playing I'd be rubbing my hands at their fixtures.

Psychologically it's good.

But.......Cheltenham next 3 are.  Carlisle, Bristol both at home and then Burton.

Carlisle will give them a game. Bristol wont.

Who knows where we will all be when they play Burton but yes i would ne happier with thier games.

I personally would take now being within 2 points of Cambridge playing them last game, I know keep saying it but looking at Cheltenham's next 3 games and we are relying on them dropping points against an already relegated Carlisle, Burton who are woeful or a Bristol Rovers who have given up and not scored for over 500 minutes.  For me that was 2 points dropped today, I really thought they were there for the taking and Northampton and Wigan away, 1 point and no goals scored is a poor return, I honestly felt we would win one of those games.  It puts so much pressure on the home games, we have to win all 3 and we need clean sheets to do this as the goals are not there.
