Great bit of business that, I wasn't one for slagging Loft off on the pitch despite the fact he was generally hopeless, he did at least try but it just hasn't worked for him at Vale. Will he ever be good enough I'd doubt it and amazed a league one side have paid for his services. Considering we paid what was rumoured to be 75k for him he'll have to go down as one of the worst forwards to play for the club. Despite that he needed moving on if simply for his own mental health.

Interesting, I wouldn't mind another striker to replace Loft as i think 3 is still light to go into the season considering injuries and suspensions but I'd have thought anyone else would be initially warming the bench and have to fight for their place(fair enough) but I'd have thought a young loanee from champ/prem was more likely.

He isn’t a goal scorer. Never has been. His stats back that up.so what did Flitcroft expect? The criminal thing is that we bought him and didn’t buy a proper goal scorer to play alongside him. Terrible recruitment and I thought Loft (as bad as he was) ended up being the conduit for our anger with Flitcroft.

Bar the keeper Vale players make up the spine of that team - centre half, central midfielder and striker.  Smudge ‘worth more’ than George Byers? Where do these valuations come from?
With how our transfer window is going, after today’s business wouldn’t be surprised Lofty coming out on the website as being the most expensive striker in L1 🥴.
