Only just seen the Loft news. Just WOW. Delighted and gobsmacked. 

The caveat, I felt the booing and jeering was appalling from some of our fanbase on the occasions he was brought on as a sub. 

Loved his 2 performances against Burton and Bristol where his efforts and application were outstanding. 

Sadly they were a blip and he reverted to type. 

A truly awful signing , disastrous. That Fleetwood one on one still gives me nightmares. 

Good luck to the bloke but thank you Cambridge for pulling off this masterstroke. 

Jones,Lowe, Debrah and Grant next 🙏. 

I think Debrah's age and contract probably save him if anything? He could improve. Not saying he's great but it looks like Iacoviti will be out of the door before him.  Totally agree on the other 3 though!

He'd better improve ! God help us if he regressed.

Can usually tell after half an hour of seeing them play if they are going to make an impact at the Vale. Feared the worst after half an hour of RL. Just did not seem to read the game like, for example Tom Pett.

Debrah however did seem to have something. As he plays the same position as the manager I hope he can coach him to be a good ‘un. Think he can and will.

Was a big jump for Jesse from non league straight into league one, where he did struggle but so did the more experienced defenders to be honest. He’s a very good age, a big unit & he should be fine in league two this season 

Personally we had 3 decent limbs away last season. Devine at Oxford and Mansfield plus Loft at Burton so thanks Ryan for contributing to a third of my fun and good luck at Cambridge.

His treatment has been shocking.

Someone telling him to "F OFF" as he was warming up. Booing and jeering him when he gets subbed on/off. Ironic cheers when he has a shot on target.

Would love him to score 20 goals next season.

Agree re abuse, however with just 34 goals in all competitions to date (22 league) would be surprised if he gets 20 in his 3 year contract with them.

We have now got rid of 10 players including the 4 loanees from the end of the season. I would expect at least a couple more to depart. I would think there is room for at least 2 or 3 more to come in and maybe one or two of those may well be loans.

Tolaj and Stockley haven't signed to sit on the bench. The quandary will be how to get Dipepa minutes. If he doesn't play, his value won't increase and we won't see a big-money sale which must be the aim for all our young players.

I can see us signing Diamond from Southampton on a season long loan. Maybe he'll be able to fill the 4th striker role or Garrity would move up top in an emergency?

We will bring in another striker now Loft has gone. I’d expect a young loanee with some pace & energy. We’ve pissed about for 2 seasons playing players in wrong positions. I can’t see it being the same this season now under Moore with him being able to piece his own squad together

I reckon we may sign him on loan but he’s an attacking midfielder/winger. Can’t see him being used as a 4th choice striker option but possibly the extra winger some fans are calling out for 👍🏻

Yes, by my rough calculations the squad numbers are roughly the same (though the wage bill may now be higher) so there's no reason (if the money is there) that one or two more could be added without it leading to a massive squad...

At the end of the summer window last season we have 18 senior professionals (I think, not 100% sure of that) and 5 loanees (not sure what % of their wages if any we met). That's 23 senior players

At this point, excluding the junior pros such as Buah and Lomax, we have 22 senior professionals (I'm including Dipepa in there as I presume he's now got a "senior" wage after his extension) and no loanees. That's 22 senior players (plus a smattering of junior pros)

Considering the relegation and the state/inbalance of the squad it's been a remarkable transformation already. If a couple more can be moved on and replaced by better replacements then it will be right up there as one of the best windows...
