Is Jones even that bad as back up? He has plenty of experience at League Two level and I would say he's comfortable at this level too, so long as he can stay fit. Wouldn't be sad to see him leave and replaced but I don't think he's as bad as generally made out to be. There's a huge gulf in quality between this league and the one above.

I think we have plenty of depth in the middle of the pitch so would be surprised to see Ojo leave.

He was woeful last time in league two what makes you think he will be any different this time? Was far from comfortable before, with players like Jones it doesn’t matter what level you play at he always has & always will have horrendous mistakes in him & is consistently a liability. On top of that his injury & fitness record is beyond a joke. He needs to go, I agree with your last bit. I actually think Ojo will stay for this season

He is wearing Vale kit.

True 😅 sure it was confirmed he’s out until mid November time. That’s some speedy recovery if so 😂 unless Ojo leaves I don’t see where he’s getting game time to be honest. He doesn’t seem the type to sign up & be loaned out either going off his reluctance to accept a new contract so far 🤷‍♂️

I'd agree but currently we only have Dipepa and the 2 new lads as out and out forwards, anything else is square peg, round hole territory.  I don't think we've got anyone else from the youth set up coming through, unless Buah is a striker I'm not sure? But he might benefit from some minutes out on loan in non league locally at some point?

God forbid one of our strikers gets injured for a lengthy period but it can happen. Plus most players miss 4 or 5 games a season through the odd knock/suspension/squad rotation with cup games so we'll need another striker to share the load imo.  By nature players who have come through at bigger clubs academies will technically have excellent ability probably better than our youth lads(that's not a criticism just fact as their academies have massive scouting networks and lots of staff) so I'm not aversed to having the odd 1 or 2 on loan from Prem clubs as long as it's beneficial to both clubs.

We have senior forwards -
Ronan Curtis
Jayden Stockley
Lorent Tolaj

Plus Ben Garrity who is well able to play there, though he is better still as an AM.

We have young forwards -
Baylee Dipepa
James Plant
Andrew Buah

How many first-team games the young uns will play is an unknown, it depends (of course) on how many chances they are given, how they perform and how fit they remain.

So, as you say, there is a case to be made for another striker to share the load.

But I wouldn't be dismayed if the club kept their powder dry until later in the season, as it is always a guess as to which position(s) may need extra cover as the season progresses.

Now they'll probably immediately go out and sign someone brilliant that we hadn't even imagined ... 🙂

Get completely well soon, Rhys, and then get that bleepin' contract signed.

And what the hell is an "Anti-Gravity Treadmill"?

I don't even know, but I want one ... 🙂

Reduces your body weight when running/walking. Uses air pressure, very clever.

Curtis is a winger as is Plant and I believe Buah is more a wide forward? If we are talking out and our centre forwards another wouldn't go amiss as Dipepa is still only 17 so anything he contributes in terms of goals would still be a bonus. Like I said I don't want to be seeing square pegs in round holes for too many matches like shoehorning Garrity or Chislett in as a makeshift strikers. 3 will not get us through the season unscathed imo

DM was using Loft in the friendlies before he departed so that would indicate he may want another CF to supplement what we have.

We will have 4 strikers come the start of the season, as you say strikers. Not attacking mids or wingers. Like yourself I don’t want to see Curtis & Garrity etc thrown into that role & I don’t think Moore will do that anyways. Buah will be loaned out or played in pizza cup games you’d imagine

He wasn’t woeful in league two. I thought he was on course to be a contender for player of the season until the Newport game halfway through where he got sent off and then injured soon after which derailed him.
