Crosby is Out NOW !!!

Did anyone see this from the other day?

I still think Crosby has a bit to learn on in game management, but his man management seems to be really good.

There was that thing the other week too with Chislett being shown videos of all his goals and he's scoring or assisting every game now.

Worth considering in the ongoing In / Out / Shake it all about debate.

It's almost as if a bloke with experience of hundreds of games and multiple promotions knows more than the average internet expert.

I would by no means suggest that I am Crosbys biggest fan, indeed recently I have decided that I think that he should go. But, he is clearly a good man manager and obviously learning the ropes of full management -  we have seen what this team can do from time to time when he motivates them and gets the tactics right. So, playing devils advocate to the “get him out now” lobby, is there a case that given more time (like we say about several of our younger players) and possibly more experienced tactical support,  we could have a good manager on our hands? Perhaps Carol really is playing the long game with the management, squad and re-building the infrastructure?

This is it imo. It wouldn't surprise me if the tippy tappy, play out from the back, hold possession was an experiment tbh to get some data, experience and to see how far we need to progress with it over the next few seasons.
Plenty of time to turn things round in a season after a couple of months of it not working and being miles off. I'm Probably wrong, but the management and club would've learnt a huge amount from that period

Unfortunately the "tippy tappy" playout from the penalty area has cost us many goals conceded and points lost this season.  I'm all for a good style of football, but ultimately football will always be a results business and there are areas to play a passing style but within the penalty area with our 'quality' of player, certainly isn't one of these areas!

I'm in total agreement Bill just glad they seem to have knocked it on the head now.

Judging by two of the goals we conceded last saturday, not sure that we "seem to have knocked it on the head now"!

That also applied to Brown, Aspin, Glover, Sinnott, Foyle, Horton....and probably the majority of managers throughout the Football League!

Can't believe people actually still come out with this nonsense as a way to say a manager shouldn't ever be criticised.

Don't think I've ever said a manager shouldn't ever be criticized - but I'll always offer a counter view if I think the criticism is unfair or unjustified.

For what it's worth l was deeply annoyed with the FA Cup exit and I'm sure the owners were too, as it would have earned us a very decent wedge.

My gut feeling is that Andy Crosby will, if given time, turn out to be a very good manager for us.

Do not think AC will get the chop this season tbh. League position, injuries and the odd excellent performance will save him if L1 status is preserved.

i do think it’s been a long hard learning curve for AC but he seems to have the backing of the players. I do think he will be a good manager as and previously said he seems to be a good man manager.

Lets all hope and good transfer window and a less injury free second half of the season we climb the league.

  • 3 weeks later...

He's going nowhere is he. But having been entertained in the last 4 home games we reverted to type.

Bolton, Posh, Boro and today. All replicas of each other. Boring to watch dirge.

In the main pitiful passive efforts where we've barely laid a glove on them.

It's happening far too often. Many predicted how today would go and sadly didn't take Einstein to work it out.

The league table makes grim reading.

4 points minimum next two games or a decision has to be made to give him his marching orders.

Of course in typical Vale fashion the transfer window will of past so any new incumbent can only work with what's left.

Had we lost 2-3 in a humdinger I wouldn't be posting this. But we didn't.  Yet another pathetic feeble performance without a single shot on target in 100 minutes .
