Definitely - and the club will keep him on as coach or community liaison officer or similar.  Heartbreaking to have a career stopped by this, but his family must come first.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's not up to him, for insurance reasons.

I would be surprised though if there isn't a PFA insurance scheme for this type of event and he gets a medical retirement payment. Sam Stockley did for us for an eye socket problem or summat.

Excellent win. Survived some rough house stuff second half. Overcame adversity. Showed a lot of skill going forward. Wigan team got bigger second half and we made some mistakes passing out. But got the job done.

Their will be insurance in place that will pay well and he would have done well out of the game already out of the game already too

Great win. Shows great character in the squad to bounce back and more importantly that these players want to play for the manager. Turning point for us I think. 6 goals scored in 2 games. That’s more like it.
