Wrexham

This tweet from Reynolds has reached 2.8m people. If only 1% of those buy Wrexham merch that’s 28000 items sold.
That’s Premier League standard. Can’t see them not being in the Championship by 2025. Their buying power (outside of Deadpool )must be phenomenal. Having said that Mullins is injured

Amazing how much coverage they've had for a friendly that (given Utd's team) bore more resemblance to a Pizza Trophy game than anything else.

As you say though, they're not going to fall foul of FFP rules given the revenue coming their way, so can't see anything stopping them moving through L2 and L1 fairly swiftly (not necessarily successive seasons, but they'll make a far better fist of it than Salford have).

I don't know why, but I really dislike Wrexham - I think it's the whole 'fairytale' story that they're making them out to be.....they paid astonishing wages to players to drop down 2 divisions to join them in the conference. It's not a fairytale, it's basically what Man City and the other top prem teams do but they're all slaughtered for it (especially City).

I also find their players arrogance (Ben Foster in particular), that they think they're going to absolute walk League 2......I really hope they struggle just like Salford have to get themselves out......

Rant over 😂

Completely agree. As Jim Royle would say ' fairytale my a**e '.

Parkinson was  gobbing off last night saying Nathan Bishop better steer clear of anyone from Wrexham after injuring Mullen. Vile club.

I think like FGR were for a time and then Salford have been recently...  Wrexham will become the televised cup game of choice, regardless of who they are playing.

You can just see the TV execs now... "Hollywood"... "Ryan Reynolds"... "Fairytale"... "Welcome to Wrexham"... "Former England keeper"... etc

It would certainly reflect their recent lazy choices rather than selecting the real giantkilling ties (such as Stevenage at Villa, which I think wasn't picked up by any TV station).

I suspect if the FA Cup first-round puts together Salford vs Wrexham then some TV executives will probably spontaneously combust (which may not be a bad thing).

Expect them to make it to div 1, stick around there for a few seasons, spend a bundle of money to try and get to the Championship, fail, gets relegated and then the Hollywood stars sell up, the club goes back to gate of 2,000 and they consistently battle to keep themselves from being relegated out the league.

Good luck to them, don’t hate them (i reserve all my hate for Stoke) but do think some of the hype is over the top. Saying that, I work a lot In South Wales and there is loads down there that now support Wrexham instead of Liverpool and Man U which can only be a good thing.

Just as PhilPVFC reserves his hatred for Sjoke, so do I - but I have a healthy dislike of Wrexham, too.

I haven't watched the TV series, so can't confirm this, but my son has and Is very impressed with the good work the WalesyWooders are doing for the town itself? Much like the Shanahans but on a less-publicised level. I'd much prefer to see owners like  Ryan and Robbie, for however long they stick around, than the likes of Neville and co at Salford which appears to be just a vanity project!
