Because it's a quarter final of a major competition. No brainer. Really shocked by how poor our support is.

I would have thought that any Vale fan with any history tied to the club would attend this game. The first quarter final of the league cup in our history. It's a big thing, even if the prize money is poor in relation. I'll be there.

Can new fans not go to this?

It could have been a chance to get people in for the first time and make them feel good about the fact that they don't usually go.

They can if they're with a friend with purchasing history or go into the club to buy a ticket. With Boro selling out they won't want them to get in our ends.

I've registered on the Middlesbrough forum where they tell me they have almost an entire first team currently out with various injuries......

Now i'm in shock.

Other teams have injuries?

I thought it was just Port Vale that got injuries

Looks like Hamil has sold well but Railway looks a shambles (particularly the Paddock).

We can't ever call ourselves anything other than a small club if we can't sell 10000 tickets for a quarter final of a domestic cup competition.

I think we're about 1,200 home fans short of what we got for the Swindon playoff final as it stands with 12 days to go. With corporate and away tickets I reckon about 11,400/11,500 have been sold so far. Still the potential for another 1,500 home tickets to be sold to push it towards 10,000 once full focus is on the fixture in the press etc...

We also happily sell out away games, regardless of form etc. We sold out Mansfield (in this competition) and Shrewsbury recently during a poor run of form.

That was what, 2,000 tickets for each? This is nigh on 11,000 tickets for home fans. When the football is this poor, I really can't blame people.

There are 3 games before this. Crosby and his squad have plenty of time to convince more people to come, but it will take one or two decent results/performances

Hot off the press, thought I had better get my Stevenage ticket before today’s game so popped in the ticket office, home ticket sales as of today just short of 8,000! Nearly 3000 in Hamil, 2000 in railway std, 1000 + in Lorne st, 1000+ in paddock 800 corporate.

Plus their fans
