Going about this completely the wrong way.

Slagging off 'casuals', 'fairweathers', or kids who simply haven't been able to get anyone in their family interested enough to take them to Sutton at home isn't the route to growing the fanbase. The fans we need to grow the club are not going to attend Fleetwood in the Carabao 1st round. They might attend Boro in the Quarter Final if the buzz is there and the price is fair.

£25 is steep but, whatever, we have notice and I know the money stays in the club. Carol's making us self-sufficient and we're a business at the end of the day, not a charity.

The issue is that the club should be getting as many youngsters through the door as possible. We simply have to increase the number of young people who choose to go to Port Vale on a Saturday - there's nowhere near enough and we're only just beginning to recover from the lost decade from 2008-2018. You do that by making memories

Kids for a £5, under the lights, electric atmosphere for a massive cup game and the potential of a semi final. Swindon and Wembley made great progress. We need another magical night.

Instead, a family of 4 forks out £80 before parking, food, and drink during the most expensive week of the year. We've aimed to maximise revenue from the existing fanbase rather than use it as an opportunity to attract some newbies, which (considering we're now self-sufficient) is the only route to moving upwards. We've played it safe - which is of course their call - but could be a missed opportunity if its a special one.

To summarise, make it cheap for kids, get round the schools promoting it, win 5-0.

If kids aren't coming on Saturdays with virtually-free season tickets in August and September, what chance them coming on a school night in December?

The average adult will pay £25. However, if you have kids are you really going to pay £15 a pop when they’re not that interested? People will think twice with it being a night game too.

We’re at home on Boxing Day as well.

I think that they may be called off if 3 fans or more are away on an International breaj

You dont have to go, wanting your team loose means you are no fan. Save a £1a week for six weeks then it will only mean you putting in another £19. First time we have ever got this far, you are a disgrace.

Think that’s gone right over your head youth !!!

If they were charging over and above for an equivalent league game I’d complain, but this is a cup quarter final with all to play for. There is unlikely to be a more important home league match all season (hope I’m wrong)

Well said no pleasing some folk. Pricing as obviously been agreed by both clubs its a lge cup qtr final enjoy it get behind the team & let's see what happens. Ppl were moaning we didn't draw Liverpool Newcastle etc it still would have bn the wk b4 xmas?????

Wdnt bet on it if I wr you, got 6wks save up!!!!

No idea when tickets will go on sale but if they go on soon and they sell out which is possible with the reduced capacity how can those people have 6 weeks to save up if they need to get it well in advance.

The suggestion that the Vale are "ripping people off" would be deeply offensive to Carol. The club have done a superb job in making and keeping season tickets affordable and have put together some excellent packages for children with tickets and shirts etc.

They've put £1 (yes, £1) on a matchday ticket price for the biggest game in a long time and they get this grief. It must make the owners wonder why they bother.

No idea what has been said on other sites as don't use facebook or twitter but on here I would say people have not accused Carol of ripping fans off on here but maybe question whether £25 is a little bit steep the week before Christmas.  As I posted earlier, I generally think the cost is too expensive throughout all of the domestic leagues.   Any abuse is bang out of order and no place for that if people have done that and generally hope this is a night to remember for all Vale fans.

Higher because it's a quarter final of a major competition, not just any school night.

This is a once in a lifetime event, not a run of your mill league fixture against Fleetwood.

Promote it and make it cheap for kids.

After going to support Vale since 1969 games like this are few and far between. £1 more for a quarter final ?
If we ever get promotion would folk pay the prices in the Championship ?
If not we may aswell pack in now
The Championship would probably be a step too far for me. You have to draw the line somewhere.

Would that be the small hut on the Bycars/Railway corner,Ray?

2 small huts I think, food AND drink.  Plus someone said there was now soap and a roll of toilet paper in the Bycars bogs this season.  There’s also an unsubstantiated rumour that a new 40 watt bulb has been fitted in the loos at Lorne Street end of Bycars, but we’re only switching that on when the stand is full. 👍🏻
