Port Vale v Grimsby Town friendly (Spain) match thread

No, but I do think it should be a factor when there are alternatives.  For example, sending Arsenal and Chelsea fans to Kazakhstan for a European final.
In Vale's case, surely a friendly could have been arranged which met the team's needs without having to all board a plane and go on a return short haul flight, the most damaging type of flight there is.
It's a bit like Sunak flying everywhere, ut really isn't necessary and should be avoided if possible.

Isn't this simply a friendly in the middle of a training camp that's been arranged? Must be close to the base as I really can't see us incurring the expense of the flights etc just to fly to a friendly and then back to the camp again.

Unless you're suggesting that all foreign training camps should be avoided if air travel is required?

That sounds like an excellent idea.

Actually - I'd have been with you if you said "Yes"! Things like unnecessary travel, and shop lighting being on 24 hours / day...there are many more things where we could cut down on electricity and fuel usage.

Well, LT, that would be a good start. There's a lot that could be achieved without much inconvenience, if only people/organisations/Governments would commit to it and raise awareness.
