But Flitcroft and his recruitment team spent money he did have and spent it badly. Under Carol’s new structure everything to do with football is down to Flitcroft. Harry Truman had a sign on his desk saying “The buck stops here.”  I bet there isn’t one on Flitcroft’s desk.

Does anyone know for certain if he is even full time - he has a business to run as well?

A lot of appointments have been of his mates according to rumour.

I read that DF was part time.

My view is that neither should have gone.  Rudge went down as well as up.  If we went down we would probably come back stronger.

I do have immense sympathy for DC, tho.  What he went thru should happen to no-one. He'll probably never get over that.  It may well be that having a total break from the game will do him good.  Hopefully he'll come back at Crawley or the like, much closer to his wife and family home.

@Rob Fine with me. That’s what I wanted to do but couldn’t figure out how. Although it’s all Academic now😎 How do you start a poll?

On the desktop view there's a tab at the top when you start a topic (it's a bit hidden but if you look for it you can see it). If you click on the poll tab you can add a poll when you start the topic and it appears at the start of the thread.

Admin have the ability to edit an entire thread (including things like the title, editing out typos and adding a poll) so if anyone ever wants to add a poll and forgets just let the admin folk know and we can sort it.

Is Darrell Clarke a better manager than David Flitcroft is a director of football. For me, 100% yes

Based on what, how do you come to that conclusion? Maybe I can make up my own conclusion that Clarke is a better manager than Carol is a football club owner. What can we draw from two different positions. 3 fifths of <ovf censored> all, that's what.

There was some chanting last night “David Flitcroft, get out of our club”.

I heard that.

Mind you,I'd forgotten cos it was overtaken by the continual shouts of Handball or the screams every time one of our players didn't IMMEDIATELY take a throw in or a goalkick.

Even the little sh*te ballboy ran to put the ball on the corner quadrant, yet no one seemed in a rush to throw the ball back from the home fans once they were winning. Nor the ref tell their mardarse keeper to get up when he fell to the ground after catching the ball with no one near him. Chaplin should have been sent off for his blatant dive in the first half, added to pushing Smith over plus his constant moaning. It's called Big Club Syndrome

Whatever you think of Flitcroft, the whole point of the model of a DoF is that they’re the constant, not the manager. Sacking the DoF and not the manager would’ve been a very weird decision. I can’t really judge Flitcroft because I don’t know what role he’s had in running the club. For example, if he had no money to spend in jan, there’s not much he can do about our terrible window. Alternatively, it could’ve been entirely his decision. We just don’t know. Personally I’d have sacked neither.

Loan players cost wages and it’s wasted money if they never play.

That illustrates my original point. We’ve had loans to fill squad spaces. I don’t know the details but I expect they have been free or cost peanuts obviously except Stephens, Taylor and probably Politic.

Apparently Politic has cost us £2k a week.

To be fair It’s not a lot for this level but I do find it odd we signed.

Waste of squad space and wage. It would be interesting to know who signed him and why considering how we play.

Its a damn shame he hasn't been utilised more - if AC had been given more games, I would love to have seen if he made space for the DP👍
