Train from Newton Abbot for me and Saturday night stop over.

Looking forward to us carrying on our good recent form and hope that Ellis is back in to partner Willo with Butterworth as a 10.

Hope the weather stays at least dry for the SVA terrace supporters.

3 degrees, 10% chance of rain. The first law of terracing - made of concrete and extremely cold.

Head down to Welsh back and King Street, some good real ale pubs there.

Alternatively, try The Inn On The Green on Gloucester Road - a 7 min walk to the ground. CAMRA pub of the year every year - great beers and good food.  Also The Wellington (The Welly) if they'll allow us in.  Again on Gloucester Road - owned by St Austells Brewery and some lovely beers.

Wish I could be there.

I remember last season.  Bitterly cold; I remember saying to my mate - at least its not raining.  2 mins later it started bloody raining.

It stopped about 4 mins in to the game.  We were all utterly soaked and freezing cold.  Not a great place to get caught in the rain is the Mem

Daughter now lives in Bristol (after finishing uni) so we’re making it a family affair = 4x SVA.  I’m assuming we’ll be able to collect the tickets fro the Memorial Stadium ticket office/collection point?

She says 400+  spaces at Tesco = about 15 minute walk to the ground (west of Gloucester Road) so will buy a paper to tick the ‘free customer parking’ box.

Last time I went Bristol Rovers away was for the play-off final first leg at Bath City’s ground.  Coach from the Roebuck and vivid memories of stopping off at a pub where there was a wake going on in the function room and we all started singing “Going down, going down, going down……” in the bar - thought there’d be trouble when the bereaved family came in but they started joining in saying their dad would have thought it hilarious.

Happy days!

And they didn't let us into the covered seating area when it rained "for fear of offending people who had paid to sit down". It's a terrible view from the terrace and yet it's my favourite away ground!

I had the opposite experience. Senior steward couldn't of been more helpful and let 3 of us into the seats at no extra cost , we were already drenched by then but a very decent gesture from him.

If anyone who is driving down you may want to check this out

https://www.bristol.gov.uk/residents/streets-travel/bristols-caz/charges-and-vehicle-checker

There is a charge for certain cars to drive in the city center,

If you are going straight to the ground, make sure you don’t go to the end of the M32 and you will be fine, sat nav will take you the correct way without the need of going to the end of the M32.

You can check your vehicle and the map on the link.
