Don’t like him mentioning them, especially saying they are streets ahead of us!

As much as I enjoy seeing the Wibble wobblers downfall. They are a championship club which is where we need to be in a few years hopefully

They've also played in europa league and went to the FA cup final. Granted failed miserable and I enjoyed every last minute seeing their tears but it's  something we haven't don't yet.

And as much I can't stand pulis and his god awful dinosaur boring hoofball philosophy. The fact that team and that standard of football got them to the prem and kept them up for a while is a decent achievement.

The gap is closing though I feel. For me alex Neil is a panic appointment and I think they will be at the lower part of the table again this season

Nor me. Don’t hate anybody, but have a dislike for Leeds due to their obnoxious supporters. How can you live alongside/work with in the week but hate people who support a local team. Better that than support one of the Manchester teams or Liverpool. Glory hunters/ plastic scousers?, no thank you.

How many Vale fans hate Stoke more than they love the Vale?
Love the Vale not too bothered about Stoke i don't go watch them ain't remotely interested in them ,there a decent club on the whole there support the ones I know are easy enough get on with and I know for a fact some of there fans come watch us am I bothered by that err No everyone's money is welcome .
I used go watch them when I was younger with me best mates dad when they played at there good stadium but I also when I was younger went watch Vale and Liverpool on occassions also I just loved football so wish them no malice whatsoever but after deciding that I didn't earn enough watch both I chose the Vale about 31 years ago no more liking Lpool as too far and too expensive go .
Still love football .
Vale are moving forwards well and as DC said we must continue to move the club forwards

I primarily stopped watching Stoke in the mid 1980s because of the hooligan culture. That's inside and outside the ground. Last went to a Stoke game circa 1999 at the Victoria ground.

More recently I don't know what to think of the owners. Bet365 is a major employer in the potteries and Coates and family do sponsor stuff locally. But gambling doesn't sit comfortably with me as sponsorship in the same way tobacco and alcohol doesn't.

I feel the owners have bought a period of relative success for the club by writing off a vast amount of money. I guess the local economy and employment benefited.

I'm have moved from the point where I would watch PV and SC 40 years ago to where I have no affinity left for SC. I won't ever go to their stadium again.

Hates a strong word but having grown up in a Stoke dominated area and seen how insufferable that lot are like when things are going well I’m not in the least bit ashamed of wishing that club nothing but constant misery.

I will always be thankful to Patrick Van Aanholt (with a helping hand from Hughes and Lambert) for striking the killer blow on their time in the PL.

I have no real issue with Stoke but they have a very large percentage of 'take it or leave it ' fans. I know a couple of really passionate fans but not many, but I know a lot who go for a bit, then lose interest, then don't even know who they're playing. All teams have 'fair weather" fans but Stoke seems to have a lot of them. Obviously they've gained a few glory hunters during the Premier League years but I always feel with Vale that for the core 5-6,000 fans, it means everything. I just don't get that vibe with Stoke supporting mates. They never seem that 'in to it'.

Clarke is right in what he says...at this current time they are miles ahead of us, both in terms of their infrastructure, money available and fan base. However, they tend to live off this historical premise of being a bigger club than us, which is true, however they currently get about 14-15k at home (not the 20 odd thousand claimed) , that's not far off our current attendances of around 8-11k. More fans come with more success....look at Brighton or Fulham...a few years ago you would never say that they would get bigger attendances than Oldham, but they do because of their relative success.

I'm certain that if Vale were in the Premier League and Stoke were in league 1/2, we would be getting better crowds than them. Their historically better performances in the leagues than us means that they have historically attracted a larger fan base. If we spend the next 50 years in the top 2 divisions then I could see our fan base organically growing. History means nothing really.
