Interesting comments from their manager who noted our changes and how they couldn’t make that many changes due to squad depth. He obviously felt our ability to bring in so many fresh players was a benefit to us.

Strength in depth especially when playing twice a week, 2 for every position ideally with different attributes, some able to cover alternative positions and styles. Keeps the opposition guessing and allows high work rates, makes it more difficult for fans to pick the team though.

must have watched our second goal 10 times now - and it gets better each time - ACE 😍😍😍😍

An experienced and competent striker, how often in the past have similar chances been smothered by the opposing keeper?

It was right in front of us and looked blatant.

We looked a far stronger 11 than that which faced MK in the week.  Still a bit lacklustre in the first half, although we defended really well and created a couple of nice chances.

Harrison is a fit lad.  The way he left the defender and then produced a cool finish, after 90 minutes of running and chasing on a very warm afternoon, was terrific.

Also, Garrity produced a great finish for his goal today and could’ve had another.  He looks a bit lost in the roll he’s being asked to play but if he can chip in with the odd goal that’s all that can be asked until our striking options are better.

Agree with all of this.

Crosby made a good point in his post match about MK Dons game that only 3 of the starting 11 played in our last game of last season.

When todays line up was announced it just had such a strong core of last seasons team i almost felt nostalgic.

On Harrison i really hope it's going to be another one of those right player right manager scenarios. Arguably that's happened with Wilson and we got him thriving. Really encouraged by Harrison so far. He's had some big transfer fees in the past and still at a good age. Clearly the alure of working with DC again is paying off. Will this happen with Holden too when he gets his fitness back and isn't forced to play out of necessity?

Anyway UTV!

Solid win against probably the worst team in this division (until they sack JFH).

First half was a hard watch but we came into it the last 15 mins and but for a great covering clearance from Garrity's effort, we'd have gone in ahead.

Massey's introduction gave us a bit more even though Worrall had performed well in the 1st half. The most impressive aspect was the way we controlled the game and closed it down once we went ahead. As others have said, Harrison's goal was class and if we can get him enjoying the game and feeling super confident then we've got a player on our hands there.

Let's not get carried away. They are/were dreadful and completely devoid of confidence. We did today what we should've done on Tuesday but you can only beat what is put in front of you. Let's get another couple of quality additions in before the end of the window and attack the next two home games to cement our place in this top half.

An interesting comment from JFH..

The Burton boss also said his Vale counterpart Darrell Clarke had greater strength in depth available to him and that helped as Vale got control of the game after the home side made the better start.

Hasselbaink added: “We couldn’t maintain the intensity. They made five changes from Tuesday, and we couldn’t do that as we don’t have that depth to make five changes.

Burton were dreadful but they brought intensity and we matched it/exceeded it which is fantastic after Tuesday, but I don't care how bad they are any time you can get a clean sheet in this league it's a great thing.

Fantastic piece of business throwing money around for Harrison, it would be interesting to know if Jake Taylors fee paid for EH?

Not sure why whenever we win some like to concentrate on how dreadful the opposition must have been. It was the same against Fleetwood.  We'll only truly know how poor these teams are come the end of the season. For the first half an hour of today's game they looked anything but poor. Goals have and always will change games and had they gone one ahead, I wouldn't have fancied our chances of three points. There's probably a handful of stand out teams in League One and then little to nothing between the rest.

Fleetwood were so bad we are the only who’ve beaten them!!!

Just home after giving it large in Tutbury on the Guinness and Sambuca .

Great day out. First half so so. Second half mullered them.

And heres me big advocate of Keilor-Dunn,  he was utter utter <ovf censored>, looking like he'd never played football before.

Excellent day out
