I disagree. Forrester has just come from Stoke where he would have probably been on a few grand a week. He hasn’t come here for hundreds.

massey be on a wedge but forrester small and agyakwa have about 15 appearances between them - won't be on that much. not a problem i like young signings just 2 days out and only one fit forward and one keeper which needs sorting as good as tuesday was.

Rooney was a young lad at 18 on 18k a week

I'd definitely agree that a GK and FW are needed but I think this may be the squad for the Fleetwood game now and those additions may come later on in the window. 

I wonder if, in the meantime, they may add a young "development" keeper (such as the lad from Salford) who can be emergency back-up for the opening games, ahead of someone more experienced coming in. 

I do think we have finished with signings before the season starts. They would have held off updating the squad numbers if they were going to announce more players this week, especially for the sake of 48 hours. 

I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time but then things can change quite quickly, what didn't look like a signing before the week was out could accelerate and then there's the rush to reveal.

I don't think there are many free transfer keepers (if any) out there that would be suitable for us.

I think we will have to either buy one, or come to a mutual agreement with another club to release one.

I've seen Alex Smithies mentioned, but he left Cardiff as he couldn't agree a new deal so wages would be high. I thought there might be a tiny chance he could end up here as he said he wanted to move back up North, but he's ended up on trial at Bournemouth! 😂😂

One thing for sure it's been a more pleasant week on here with less sniping and bickering. 

Onto Forrester, I really think there's a misconception about this lad. Yes he wasn't a regular first team player but it's only 3 1/2 months since he had a blinder at WBA away, then was mysteriously dropped according to my lard buddies, he'd of been on reasonable coin at Stoke. 

I know they are cutting their cloth accordingly these days but can still afford Dwight Gayle. 

I might be barking up the wrong tree I have no knowledge of the ins and outs of wages, but as others have said he's not come here for peanuts. I think he might surprise people and become a force in our defence.  Who that is at the expense of is down to our manager.

Im sure they have a plan as to who will be in to cover if we havent decided or made a deal for one of our targets. My guess youth team keeper will be on the bench.

The first couple before Holy came after Covolan red card  I'm sure we didn't even bother with a sub keeper ( risky )

We are starting to bring in a higher quality of player, whether they can play in the Championship is up to them, as with some of our existing players, at least prove to us or other clubs that they are good enough for L1. Could be quite a churn over the next few years, but part of a footballers life.
