Dont get carried away long way to go we are where we are because we have not been very good there will be bumps in the road before the end of the season but for Gods sake give em chance and stop this immature slagging off of the lads before the first whistle it aint even funny

Really like DC’s interview. He has rightly criticised the players recently and then rightly tonight put all of the focus on them and praised them.

I may have mentioned it before that I am really not interested in what you think thanks.

Its not usually a first touch its more often an only touch `coz he`s lost it.

That would be an ecumenical matter! There's actually a pattern that's appeared on my skirting board that looks like Darrell Clarke, slightly miffed with his arms crossed...

Apart from years where there have been two terrible teams, seems like you need 46 to really feel safe

And in those years it could be as low as 35 points (although not sure if there were deductions).  A point a game probably feels about right to avoid the drop.

Enjoyed that tonight but cannot say I enjoyed Newports possession at times but here goes here my marks as I say what I see.

Brown 6 a great save if he turned that shot onto the bar second half ,no chance with goal but other than that nowt do thanks to fantastic organised display from all team in front of him .

Mills 7 links the play well with Worrall and a steady good nights work at back.

Smith 8 outstanding had a really good game involved in winner then along with Legge and all other player saw game out .

Legge 8 outstanding did a fine job .

Montano 8 loved his first half display so positive ,pounding the floor when they scored but like all the team did well defensively second half when under increasing pressure .

Worrall 9 two assists he truly is a fantastic player so instrumental in what we do

Conlon 8 first half tremendous lost his way second half but dug in and did his defensive role well .

Oyeleke 7 ran out of steam and replaced but it's great have him back I'd rather have 45 mins of his excellence than 90 of a inferior player .

Joyce 7

Rodney 7 played better as game wore on big goal though that ,feel there is more to come from him .

Robinson 7 thought he did ok he needs a goal but he put a shift in like everyone else .

Subs

Brisley 7 saw us over the line .

Amoo 7

CLARKE 10

Great have a manager who tells them how it is and changes tactics to swing the game back our way that first half display was so good ,second half we were looking knackered then the change Oyeleke off Amoo on then Conlon back to defensive role then we score with ball hitting Rodney then we see out the game with no scares because he makes another change Brisley for Robinson ,Brilliant Darrell Clarke enjoy your evening and well done all the Vale players tonight that's more like it UTV

Enjoyed that tonight

Spot on ratings and summary.👍

Hopefully that shot against the bar is the turning point, like Browns penalty save a couple of years ago.

Anyone know the stat for the number of points that usually means safety? Bit like the 40 point myth in the prem?

Around 50-52 in a normal season

Won’t be as high as that this season.

At long, long last!

4 points from the three home games is ok.

Good management tonight. Changed tactics and players throughout the second half in response to developments on the pitch.

We've shown some real quality in the first half. Woz outstanding as ever and motm as usual. His work rate and quality is immense.

Should give us lots of confidence going into Saturday.

UTV!

In league One but with 2 down it’s generally on average far less. Season before last 42 was enough. I think 43-44 would be enough.

Will the moderators take the necessary action.?

Of course... you can rely on it 🙂

Great win for the Vale. Thought we were going to lose that , but Clarke set them up nicely and we tore into them first half. Conlon unlucky not to have a brace. Brilliant free kick. Rodney saved the day with his tap-in . Vale could have had a third at the end , but went to the corner. At that stage , all 22 were tired out. Nasty lot Newport , and the ref was extremely lenient. A win on Saturday would seal it . I’ll take a draw.
