Match Thread: Port Vale v Bolton Wanderers

Featured Replies

We scored 12 goals against Bolton , Tranmere  and Bolton , respectively Yes, we lost two of those by the odd goal, but at least we were scoring. Since Kings Lynn , when some players downed tools , the rot set in. As another poster said , we were fitter as well. That is unacceptable in any job. Makes me angry .

Well I can see far more than that. In particular, I thought the team worked really hard today. Two players picked up injries because they worked really hard.

Worked hard should be a given ,you have to want to score .

Where was Rodney all game again as soon as Swann went off we went atrocious yes Robinson had a hooked shot and a pass back to the keeper and Joyce hit it high instead of driving it low but what else .

We never in all the game had enough desire get on the ball Conlon is creating zilch and Joyce the game passes him by ,Worrall was abysmal surprised me how can you be so good v Oldham then not turn up next game ,Hurst was weak ,it was a shambles of a performance ,you pass you move ,you get in behind ,you try go past someone the amount of times we had the ball in there half and lost momentum was disgusting .

IF folk are happy with scoring no goals in four home games they need there heads looking at ,they were beatable but we had the wrong players up front today Rodney should never be up there to be honest he is doing nothing for me its unacceptable.

I just feel an overwhelming sense of sadness tonight. Deep down I probably expected defeat, but there was nothing between the teams and it took a soft deflected goal to win it.

The games changed when Swan went off, Robinson just offers absolutely nothing.

The next two games are absolutely massive. I thought we were done the season before last when we lost at home to Morecambe, and I feel the same way tonight. However, we managed to turn that around, and there is no reason we can’t do the same this season.

I feel sick tonight, but I still believe. If we get out of this, I’m going to spend the evening playing the great escape theme tune and the wonder of you simultaneously whilst drinking the bottle of Champers I’m saving for a special occasion. UTV.

Who is this absolute gobshlte on RS

We simultaneously should have kept Askey but also waited too long to sack him. Flitcroft has misled Carol apparently.

What a clown.

Ok so you’re DC, we have to play 11 players out of who is realistically available on Tue. Where do you go with a team of shitters who can’t score? It’s not exactly easy, but I would go:

Brown

Olangunju Smith Legge

Conlon Joyce

Burgess Taylor  Amoo

Worrall Cullen (Swann if fit)

Bradford lost to crappy Carlisle who are on their own Vale run.

Grimsby having the better of it at Colchester.

oldham got 2 against a team that beat us, though they could have played for 24 hours against us in tues and never looked like scoring.

Anyone can beat anyone. Don’t give up.

The fitness and pressing game against FGR at home early last season was a thing of beauty. We were superb for 95 minutes

I think it's easy to blame Askey now, he made mistakes but many factors have contributed to where we are now. Many have not been addressed by the new boys in charge imo.

So................... Nobody likes Guthrie, nobody likes Robinson, nobody likes Cullen Swan could be injured, Pope is. So who does DC pick for the next game ?

"If you're not up for the fight come knock on my door",  if he thinks that's the sort of language that will motivate anyone think again Darrel Clarke, this guy doesn't know what he's doing and/or the implications of what he's saying.

That is provided we can score a goal or even two

He tells us all to shut up on social media and then comes out with that comment!!National League is closing in on us Mr Clarke,0%win rate🤔

I might go and knock on his door at this rate.

I need a break from all this. Closing the laptop lid in 5...

Maybe see you all on Tuesday if I can summon the strength.
