Bill Bratt on Homes under the Hammer

I was behind him in a builders merchants and heard him telling the bloke behind the counter that he still goes to Vale and sits in the away end, so that he doesn’t get any abuse. He also then went on to bad mouth our current regime who’d just taken over, saying that they weren’t all that they were making out they were.

Rumour has it the delusional <ovf censored> was telling people last season he's waiting in the wings to 'save' the club when Carol 'fails'.

Bratt gave us MOLD and is now trying to remove a property full of it. A nice reassuring bit of irony there. I remember his remortgaged the house line...but as others have said..which one?

I’ve never known anyone become poor out of owning (yes I know it was meant to be fan owned Valiant 2001) the Vale and Bratt’s latest appearance seems to show that.

True, but not he nor anyone else was going to do it for nothing.  And in the context of football's money, surely that wasn't so out of line?

Yeah I’d agree the 50k salary wasn’t at all greedy for what he was meant to be doing, but he steered the club towards increased decline. So, I’d say he was overpaid for failure.

These days most owners are putting money into clubs, not taking it out.

There are three options:

1. Owners are happy to lose money (Stoke)

2. Owners are shrewd and run the club well and make money from it (Crewe)

3. Owners who make bad decisions and try and take money out of the club anyway (Newcastle)

Bratt was #3 even if he wasn't making millions from it.

For someone qualified for the job I agree but not for a bloke who sold insurance. Also, the original V2001 directors agreed that none of them would benefit financially from the position at the club. Remember the salary reportedly included free medical insurance. A good deal for an amateur with no experience in the role.

I’m not sure about point one. The club are over £150m in debt to the Coates family.
