Will you marry me then Jean and we can book a wedding, lol.

What a lovely idea! I’ll see if Eddie is willing to negotiate a release clause for me. 😄

I rather think he will.

Folk with big egos crave recognition and adoration.

He won't be seen ever again at Vale Park and his face will be recognised all around the other football league clubs.

He is now yesterday's man.

I rather think he will too. You don't celebrate with fans like he did when we got promoted without caring what people think. He just wanted to be popular just like he did when he went to the supporters' bus after the Exeter game. Well, his reputation's in tatters now and his fan base is, well, shall we say rather diminished.

He may be hoping people will forget what he was like, but they won't. I've had sympathy for the Vale's plight from other club's supporters including Blackpool (now there's a coincidence) and Cambridge. They all know and his reputation will follow him around for a long, long time.

Well done, Norm, we all think you're great - for disappearing from our club forever.

Norman absolutely hated this process, and couldn't deal with his name being in the national press (in a negative way).

He was straight on the phone to the Guardian journalist after the big article came out.

I'm glad he's gone but you couldn't script some of the things he did/came out with. They literally defied any form of logic and reason. Part of me will miss the drunken Twitter rants.

Positives: he took us out of administration and at the time, no one else was willing to do that, so we can't re-write history and must accept that at least in the short term he did at that time keep our club alive. Negatives; far too many to list.....so let's just move on!

Is there a non-disclosure agreement regarding the sale? I'd love to know more about the process, Smurthwaite's reaction to having given up the club and the price paid.

I reckon Mr H it is all guesswork.

The fact it is undisclosed speaks volumes.

Got a feeling and i'm probably way off the mark that they have had to pay in the region of 4.5 to get rid of the vermin.

He turned down 3.5 and it just seems to have go on so swimmingly with no hitches.

Comments from Mr S also allude to paying way over the odds.

Thank you to them for doing so.

May come out in time, one thing is for sure it was too much, but a sellers market of a unique commodity, reading between the lines.

What comments were those?

Kevin Shanahan said: "It has been ridiculous because we paid so much over the odds but there is only one club. You couldn't go and buy 'ABC United,' because this was the one that needed buying

It took a silly amount of money, it was in no way related to what you would buy a football club for."

You are rewriting history. Gorm reckons Wildes bought the club and NS knew nothing about it until later on.

He's scum and deserves no credit for anything.

Correct, move on.

You just have. There were six interested parties dealing with the Administrators, none of which were the former owner. He was conned into stumping up the cash for Wildes and has said he thought he was buying a hotel!
