Who should we sign?

I can't think of many real flops as ex players. Cullerton, Ridley, Tartt, Pope all did ok. McCarthy didn't do so well but was a temporary signing. Dodds was a flop. There's often talk on here but very few do return. I'm probably missing one or two but the sample size is very small. If Morsy left Wigan and expressed regret at leaving Vale I doubt he'd be a flop.

Andy Jones came back(on loan)but was not match fit and overweight,

Chris Birchall returned as well

Jose Baxter has always been a good attacking midfielder, been released by Oldham but has had injury problems I think as well as other erm problems,so I think we can rule him out

Not sure Askey will show much ecstasy for this one.

Jack Grimmer released by Coventry.

Only 25 and always seemed to give 100% when he played against Vale.

A lot of clubs are trying to reduce unsustainable wage bills this season. A lot of retained lists are being partially driven by finances. Maybe sanity coming back to football at this level.

Great shout if Clark signs for Bayern Munich or Chelsea as his agent suggests .

Grimmer always seems capable of a goal or two also.

Very good player.

I agree, which in turn will have a knock on effect with wage demands of players

And further boost those, who can actually afford to pay silly money, which a few still can. And Salford if they come up.

Which in turn, will break the League in 2 or 3 pieces. And we get something like the PL, where 2 teams run away, 20-30 points from no. 3-7. Over 40 from no. 7 and so on.

So you won't be competing to win the League, but to be "best of the rest". Pros and cons

I'm not saying, I think it's morally right to go up be overspending, like Bury. That is, in my eyes at least, cheating. Because they are gaining an unfair advantage, by spending money they don't have.

That is why I believe, that every club that gains succes from overspending, gets everything they deserve when the cardhouse falls down. They don't deserve sympathy. They only get punished, because they used EPO on their budget.
