Who should we sign?

Signal Radio reported last week that Askey wants to bring in a dozen players this Summer.

If he wants to bring in a dozen players and reduce the size of the squad, then we’re probably looking at 18 players being released.

Until we see the retained list we don't know the size of the shopping list, but to avoid the clear outs of previous seasons I would expect 5 or 6 of the current team to be fixtures, so something like 8 to come in? We will need a big list to choose from.

12 is better than 18 coming in, will probably take until Xmas to settle into the best formation, but hopefully effective by end of Aug.

I’m hoping that Askey has a clear plan as how he wants to play and he will sign players to suit his tactics.

 

Unlike Aspin and Brown previously who seemed to sign players with no regard to how they would fit into a system.

I’ve also heard from Crewe supporting friends that we are possibly interested in George Ray.

Yes he was decent but I just don't understand the clamour for ex players,as I say Foley is leaving Northampton and I don't want him either tbh
