Why? I like the fact she cares. She probably does care a little too much and is a little too emotive but it’s surely better to be that way until we find out her true intentions for the club and long term business plan is revealed.

 

I would prefer a hardened business man/woman to buy it, first and foremost, if they do care it's a bonus and one we could all enjoy..... I don't like sentiment in business.

Fair enough but Smurf is a hardened business man.

 

My biggest real fear with the emotional side is that her heart rules head and we end up with a Notts County / Alan Hardy type situation. She’s already potentially going to be paying over the odds.

 

Football is a business like no other and the customers demands are exceptionally high.

As far as I can see and hear, nothing but common sense and mature, thoughtful statements have been uttered by CS. I've warmed to her a lot.

Contrast that to the promises and false statements uttered by NS over the years and the difference is remarkable.

 

All I want is openness and honesty and integrity. Steady progress (like the tortoise) will do me.

 

NS has had a fair crack of the whip but we've gone downhill like a train in the last three years and will be fortunate if we survive again this year.

You do tend to hear that sort of stuff quite a lot mate and then summer comes, fans miss it and give in to the lure of the attractiveness of the early bird offer. I don’t think you are wrong suggesting there will be some drop off but I’d be surprised if it’s anywhwre near that much.

 

One thing that is alarming that has never been addressed that I’ve banged on about for years is the attraction of a new younger bunch of fans, a brief look around particularly in the Railway Stand and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realise in 10 years most probably won’t be physically alive or capable of attending, I’m the youngest by about 20 years where I sit!

Whoever is in charge next season needs to sack the marketing team, start again and address attracting a younger fan base of 5 - 50 year olds rapidly.

Just because others are greedy scumbags that will look after their own pockets doesn’t forgive Smurthwaite for being a greedy scumbag that is looking after his own pocket.
