Relax everybody--yesterday's results for me were the turning point and I think the day we became technically 'safe'. I predict another 8/9 points from our remaining 6 matches which will take us to 52/53 points--historically, always enough to avoid the drop!

I have to say that yesterday, post game, was the 1st time in a long time that I have looked at the table and felt that 50 points is an achievable target.

Hopefully not County, as that will prevent the lardies dubiously claim8ng to be the oldest league club

Many sources dispute Stoke's claim to be the second oldest club - even the FL.

From Wikipedia:

The formation of Stoke Ramblers (a forerunner of Stoke City) was reported in contemporary news reports in 1868. Two 1906 football history books stated that the Stoke Ramblers' founders had started the club in 1863, which was the date subsequently adopted by the current club for anniversary celebrations in 1963 and 2013, and in the current crest. However this earlier date was never universally accepted, and the factual detail in the books' accounts of the 1863 formation was disproved by modern research.

And we were likely founded in 1879 not 1876. It's academic anyway as Notts County would still remain the world's oldest professional football club. Stoke City would only be the oldest professional football club in the EFL (until County's inevitable promotion). No big deal

Notts are not actually the world's oldest club as Munich 1860 are older. Sheffield F.C. are the world's oldest verifiable club formed in 1857.

Munich didn't start playing football until 1899 and Sheffield are an amateur side
