Why do you think he picked the same crap players? Maybe because the rest of the squad is either injured, banned, crap or just not ready for 1st team football including the players the chairman signed in the transfer window.

In my opinion it’s another poor appointment as it was for a number of others proving the owner hasn’t learned from previous appointment mistakes.

 

I’d be delighted to be proven wrong and for us to finish above 10th and exceed where the figures say we should be but I doubt we will. The signs aren’t good for Askey though if the first week is a gauge of his management other than his interview which I was impressed by.

I've got no issue in principle with Smurf bringing players to the table as long as the manager has the authority to veto any signings.

 

Admittedly it probably isn't helpful when we're hanging in the league by a thread.

agree no probs with chancers when we have a stable performing team but the owner puts all his energy into his signings at the expense of the teams needs and even thinks they can slot in causing our league position to suffer and undermining morale/team spirit and the managers authority....or it could be the owner getting ready for non league and rubbing his hands at reducing the wage bill further

The saga of these two lads from Spain has been going on for ages. They were nowt to do with Aspin and are clearly nowt to do with Askey. They have been backwards and forwards to the club, spent a day at Crewe, been promised all sorts of stuff and so far nowt has materialised. What on earth is the owner playing at? If he wants to play Football Manager he should bugger off and buy a computer and leave our club alone.

I have no affinity for the owner at all as I’ve explained countless times, I simply don’t hate him like others do and don’t see viable alternatives presenting themselves so wouldn’t support them blindly for the sake of it. I despised every member of v2001 and people said anyone but them now we are here with people hating again. In a few years times doubtless there will be hate against new owners.

 

This in some folks eyes makes me a supporter of the owner, I’m not, I support Port Vale, not the current crap footballers (Brown aside), the crap managers since Micky, and not the fans apart from a number I call friends, I love the entity that is Port Vale.

 

The players and the managers since Micky have gotten away with absolute murder because I’d some people’s focus on the owner.
