Did he miss last weeks sitter on purpose too?

He broadcast the pen today, might as well have written the keeper a letter telling him which way to dive.

You really are a snivelling little sheet aren't you.if the ref had of done his job properly it would have been retaken. You of all people should be making that point and if anyone else had taken it you would have done.Your obsession with bashing Pope is extraordinary and probably unprecedented on this forum.Since you've been allowed back on, your wum behaviour has continued as before and I would urge Robf to consider whether another ban should be forthcoming.

No, l didn't applaud but I saw enough effort to know we didn't deserve to lose. I believe the majority of the team would have been absolutely gutted to lose that game so I'm not sure what booing them off does for their morale. They're human beings, not robots.

The effort I haven’t questioned all season. They aren’t robots. Just garbage footballers. You’re championing applauding effort against Morecambe, having lost yet another game of football.

What a state.

Just seen the pen on telly. Popey rather telegraphed it but the keeper moved ages before the kick and there was so much encroachment from the Morecambe players that they almost ran past Pope before he’d kicked it. Should have been a retake.

It was a poor penalty, hit at the right height for the keeper, clutching at straws there Jean.

Banned for a reasonable opinion / observation? This is England not North Korea mate. He along with the other 9 outfield players continue to let us down. He alone has cost us 2 points in two games. Hopefully he will be hurting as much as the rest of us loyal fans but let’s not kid ourselves and defend the indefensible. Penalties are considered so easy by some when Rico used to bang them in they were devalued as lesser goals. Did he or did he not broadcast the penalty today?

Can't agree with that, Santa. Just look at Cheltenham, Cambridge and Macc for example - same players, different manager, different result. Notts County also now seem to be getting it right and are on their third manager this season. After Aspin, we needed a shake up to galvanise the players and we haven't got it. With predictable results.

If Askey gets it right, I will clearly hold my hand up, but I can't see it.

Those clubs you mention have had a good transfer window.

No manager will ever work again here until Smurthwaite goes.

Mr Gorman Smurthwaite is laughing his head off at the Vale fans.

Pick on me and my family I will have the last laugh by taking you out of the league by running the club down and appointing managers with no league experience to make sure it happens. He is taking money out of the club all the time by selling players and via the non-football revenue.

Queue REP to say this is not the case.

You may well be right but the real loser in all this will be Smurthwaite. Why? Because in the end his reputation will be ruined. He will forever be known as the man who lost the league status of a proud community club, founded over 140 years ago, took a club from 9th in League One to the National League, and drove the fans to public protests at his incompetence. A great legacy, eh?

I doubt he’s worried about legacies when he can carry on bleeding the club dry.

Here’s a thought.

What if he pays himself, let’s say, 100k a month in rent for the ground? Out of the club. Into his pocket.

He can also do what he wants with other income as he doesn’t have to declare detailed accounts.

I’m amazed people can’t see he’s probably rinsing 1 million plus per year from the club.

Another home defat - writtings on the wall. More protests needed!

Feel dirty for handing money to Smurthwaite to watch that after the protest. It was in desperation I would see 3 points.

The problem for me today wasn't the usual Kaye and Joyce scapegoats.I thought they played Ok with the exception of Hannant, who wouldn't get in a PDSL team, but the wing backs. All the space was wide and Ellinson allowed their fullback to be exposed (until they changed the system in the 2nd half) and we didn't make enough of the situations. We are asking defensive fullbacks to make good attacking decisions -Its not going to happen!! Both Gibbo and Clarke did OK but they aren't attackers. The decision making and runs are not good enough.

Still too many players in this side who simply are not good enough for league football in particular the spine of the team (Brown aside) which is why we are playing this system.

My god Dior,Turner,Elliot must be wondering how they cannot get in the team after watching Harris.

From what I've seen, his reputation is the one thing he does care about.

You are spot on with our wingbacks

For the first 25 mins Gibbons had ALL the ball but did very little with it.

He never beat the first man when crossing, cannot go around his man to the bye line.

It wasnt until he made a great solo run and shot that he then looked good for 15 mins.

Again second half he failed to beat the first man with his cross.

Clarke did even less and so, as our wide men, we are too negative, we offer

No creativity and quality.

Gibbons deserved man of match for his efforts but quality, sorry, there is none

or certainly not enough

It was crying out second half for either Montano or Whitfield to replace Clarke and take a chance on trying to win the game.

Far too negative from Askey, lets not loose instead of lets win this.

When you have no wingers and play 3 5 2 the fullbacks have to be attack minded footballers, more so than defenders. Thats where all the space is and the 2 holding midfielders are there to cover.

We could have played Montano or Whitfield from the start against Morecambe. They are a poor poor team but they beat us.

I hoped Morecambe and Yeovil are the 2 teams we would stay up above

Doubt it now

Thought you wre a top class referee, from reading your posts anyway.

Yet you dont agree with Jean. The keeper moved way too early.

Pope missed the penalty yes, no doubting it but it was hit firm and well and just inside the post. Yes he did telegraph it and it was a good save by the keeper to get there but he went early.

Then again it was Pope. Oh and it wasnt Brown taking it.

Sure you would have been demanding a retake if Brown had taken it and it was saved in the same way.

The shocking thing for me is I'll be astonished if there are more than 2 changes.

Reading reports and forums Tranmere went negative at Cambridge today and got what they went for.

Doesn't bode well .

Askey seems to think it went well apart from scoring too.

Maybe no changes again or Miller in for Harris and thats it
