Match Thread - Crawley Town v Port Vale

Oh, and as for the new lad, so hard to judge the boy and am sure his cause wasn't helped by the fact that his first 3,4 touches saw him slip or fall over, but he's certainly a big lad,and with a bit of pace. But where I wonder does his introduction, and like Miller, Worrall, Kanu and others previously, leave the likes of young Conlon and Whitfield. What, I wonder, have they done wrong on the pitch or more likely perhaps, done to annoy the boss off it, because it looks like neither are anywhere near the starting eleven.

Lastly, people have questioned if Pope and Miller can play together, in fact if anyone is suitable to play and form a decent partnership with our talisman, and to me after yesterday the emphatic answer is yes. What yesterday suggested was that it isn't compatibility that has prevented a partnership developing but our tactics.

Play like we did, get the ball down and run at the opposition, and then by design, push both full backs and midfield players up in support, something we've been missing all season, then to me it is abundantly clear, we are very suited to and would consistently benefit from, playing 3-5-2 every game, and we certainly have the personnel to do so.

With Pope in the middle receiving the ball to feet (and that's the key) bringing everyone around him into the game, am utterly convinced not only we would win a lot more matches than we would lose, we would at last see the arrival of a proper front two partnership

Surprisingly enough we have only lost 2 of the last 11 away games in the league and have won 4 of those. If we could find the right formula at home we would be challenging in the top 7 places.

I think that shows that Aspins tactics are ideal for away games but as we have all said he needs to change them for home games....easy innit

All is great now!!!!!

Forget s..t tactics, sh.t, signings, sh.t owner, poor Manager and we beat a really poor side

Everything is coming up roses!!!!!

Aspin has made some excellent signings and it's not his or our fault we've got a useless owner.

Most fans who've won the day before enjoy the moment... not in negative HQ, ie this place.

Makes no sense that. If he’s made some excellent singing then he’s been backed by the owner surely?

I'm chuckling reading all the comments on here about the team selection. It was exactly the same against Yeovil!

Excellent performance. Deserved three points, unlike the three we won against them at Vale. Miller had his best game for us and could have scored more. Brown had one save to make. Elliott needs more time.

And you can 100% see why. Starting with so many centre backs. Very good of you to pick out the only other win  everyone’s been moaning about the starting 11’s for months, havnt picked up on that though?

Miller had a good game because he’s a good player when we actually play to his strengths and don’t play hoof ball.
