Strange how Smurf is now saying the problem is the PA system when it hasn’t worked half the time in the Railway end.A few portaloos on the car park should suffice for the Cheltenham game.Strange how he hasn’t been able to speak to anyone in authority at Stoke.

Denise Coates is busy planning how to spend her 265m bonus.

I support a club with a lot of decent fans and an element of complete and utter tools who I have nothing in common with whatsoever other than our choice of football team. There is absolutely no bond beyond that.

In reality that’s the case with most clubs.

It's around 20 years since we last played you at the Victoria Ground, when you scummers cheated your way to a 2 - 1 victory. Walking back to the car, and my 2 pre-teen (at that time) and I were subjected to the most disgusting name-calling and threats by your horrible fans - no banter, just foul-mouth abuse! The age group of those abusers? - teens to 60-odd...the same age group as has been charged this week, which suggests that your club has done nothing over that 20 years to sort this out. Whereas, I would suggest, our hooligans are a late and unwelcome addition to our club? it wasn't that long ago we were known and respected as being a decent family club, and many neutrals' second or third favourite club! - not sure you could say the same about yours?

About the damaged PA system and the Cheltenham game being in doubt. The main club sponsor specialises in this kind of thing surely they could fix it before next weekend, whilst they’re at it, the PA system in the Bycars hasn’t worked all season.

I got punched in the face walking home with my dad after one of the derbies in the late 90’s, I got accosted by two youths before the game on a Tuesday. Do I hold that against every Vale fan? Of course I don’t.

The club has made massive strides in ridding troublemakers from the club, it bought in an ID scheme which was radical at the time for that very reason. There’s still a minority of idiots that rear there heads from time to time, but nowhere near as much these days.

Are you honestly suggesting the make up of the fan bases - people who grow up in the same communities, go to school together, play football together, work together, drink together - are radically different?

It’s just a different scale.

I agree with you that there are a minority of idiots who attach themselves to all clubs but being honest, have you ever seen so much damage caused by Stoke fans in all the years that you have followed them. I ask as it seems that a lot of Stoke fans seem to feel this vandalism was caused through bad policing, poor police intelligence, bad stewarding, fans being put in the wrong stands, even Vale fans being in the away end.

Very few seem to think that it was a bunch of idiots who just came to cause trouble. Very few also fail to accept that they got tickets either on general sale or from ST holders or club members.

Dave Kitson's account is the biggest work of fiction since the last Harry Potter novel. Asking an Arsenal fand for a balance view on Stoke is like asking a turkey to vote for Xmas

Then why hasn't Pulis sued for what, if false, would be gross libel?

I can't think of many more articles, if any, that would amount to a greater defamation of character. Read by millions of readers too.

A PR nightmare for Coates if they don't pay.

I sensed a lot of sympathy towards Vale when it went to the national press and disgust at their ***** of fans.

I don’t disagree that Stoke should pay for the damage (albeit £100k seems to be pushing it slightly), however I think you overestimate the interest nationally, no one gives a stuff about Stoke or Vale that’s the reality.

I think the FA may be more bothered in a sense if it wasn't for the u21s or B teams as they really are this wouldn't have happened. Atm its costing Vale in loss of prize money.

I’m not sure that Stoke should have to pay for the repairs but I would have thought that any club with an ounce of decency, that found themselves in a similar situation, would insist that they cover them. Well done to the proper Stoke fans that are suitably embarrassed and are voicing their apologies for the despicable actions of the mindless ******. Extremely telling that, as far as I can see, there has yet to be an official statement from the owners of S.C.F.C. condemning their behaviour. Your silence speaks volumes!
