I’m just happy we’re competing for players like Debbie and actually offering some decent amounts of money! Looking forward to the new season

Debbie Dingle?

First people moan that we only sign free transfers and bargain bin players. Scraps and left overs and complain we can't live the lifestyle of the rich and the famous. And people moan most of those players (and rightfully so) are crap and stealing a wage.

Then we, allegedly, offer money to get some real quality in the team. Try to spend money to earn money by going up. Then people moan about that too, finding angles on why THAT is wrong.

So basically the gaffer is damned if he do and damned if he don't...

This forum really does my head in! I'm so sorry to say that!!! :banghead:

Not the forum platform Bon'Ami, just individual posters

Nah, it's McGee of course. Put a bit of magic into the front line

Should work well alongside Daniels.

Waters is exactly the sort of forward player we should be looking at. He can play up front, out wide or behind the striker (number 10 role). That sort of versatility is priceless especially if Aspin wants a smaller squad and it also helps with the way we can attack teams.

Having Worrall/Waters/Hannant all switching sides and positions then Pope up top with Montano and Gibbons on the overlap would be a good attacking line up. Loads of crosses into the box.

Joyce and Kay sitting in front of the back 4.

We would then have Daniels to bring on late on with pace as well as the young Dior Angus who I think could end up being a decent player for us.

I'm hoping Dior gets some game times next season. Hes not so young at 24 so next season is a big one for him.

Everyone slated him while he was here

Vale fans slag off their own player and wonder why other clubs rate them more than we do. Theres a shocker.

Peterborough have just signed Colin Daniel!

I did not slate him he had power and pace but we never found the correct position to play him in and a late developer too. Think Aspin would have developed him when he was younger just like Montano. Under Adams, Page and Brown we never really got the best out of players. A good manager will always make players develop and be better than even they think they are!

Adams got more out of Pope, JMW, Loft, Yates, Dodds, McCombe, etc etc than any other manager in their careers.

Adams got more out of Pope by supplying him with service JMW who was a good player when we signed him. Dodds never developed and flattered to deceive. Loft was a good player anyway and Yates/McCombe steady pros. Not saying anything bad about Micky Adams he got more out of us as a team and usually went for experience. I feel with some of Aspin signings he wants hungry players who want to progress and he can help progress. Cant understand all the stuff on here about the age of this player or that player, any team will be a blend of experience and youth. Ok perhaps Tonge etc now knackered so it’s knowing when to ship out. See Ronaldo is thinking he can play at top level till 41 they are a lot fitter now. Remember Greenhoff and Futcher etc doing a good job for us. Let’s not write off players on age, let’s write them off if they don’t perform, people on here get on about players of 33 years of age as being knackered but this is no age nowadays.

Before JMW joined us he had done nothing of note. One season under Adams and he was in the League 2 team of the year. Since leaving he has hardly achieved anything either.

Can't see why anyone would knock mickey Adams, the best years at this club in recent years were under Adams and we are still reeping rewards years on with the Hugill money.

Jonathan Forte has been released by Notts County, he’d be good with Pope. Give him a year with an option of a second on appearances.

Forte is a good player, has played for some good clubs and is better than what we have at present (apart from Pope, that is). So when I looked him up, I was surprised to see how poor his goal to games ratio is - one every five over his career, and marginally better than one every four over the last two seasons at County, where he scored 19 in two seasons over 74 games (9 last season and 10 the previous).

I think we can definitely do better and would prefer to see someone quicker playing alongside Pope. Someone like Kristian Dennis, though that might be hoping for too much
