Seems like worth a look as he,s semi pro.

I,m sure he is on Aspins radar and he helped McArthy out earlier in the season by giving him a coaching job.

Still like to see Danny Rowe from Fylde on a contract but suppose Norman is still shopping in Poundland.

Hope Aspin manages to dump Lainton,Barnett and Davis.

After today you can add Turner and Howe to that list for me.

I would like to see any deals done early.Leave it late and the better players will have gone elsewhere. Most of the players left will be lesser quality.Signing good players early should help season ticket sales.

I can remember the last time we signed a load of players early...

But we had an inexperienced manager who was a former Vale player in charge then.

The problem with doing business early is you pay players to dollar or they'll hang on for a better deal. Leave it late and you sift through the dross for diamonds.

It's always a balancing act but if you pay the right money you'll get the right players, put a decent offer on the table and stick to it, clubs and players know what the going rates are, if the player (agent) demands more then it has to be a no, stick to the budget and a decent squad will be put together. However, therein lies the issue, will the budget support the going rate to employ Aspo's target of 24/25 players? I reckon he'll need a wages budget of at least between £1.75m & £2m.

Aspin will probably have to raid the waste bin for players who no one else wants so probably the names have changed to protect the innocent but the lack of quality will remain the same and will send us down for certain.

A bit more than Accrington then. If you look at the 3 promoted teams only Luton have a big budget and Accrington have the smallest league 2 budget. Mansfield recruited heavily and aren't in the playoffs. The common thread in the top 3 is a relatively stable management team and a group of players who've been together for a while. A significant issue in the club has been the constant churn in players. The core of our last promotion was Sinnott signings who had been at the club for 3 years and developed in to a decent side. Bring in 7 or 8 new players and it will take 2 months to get the team playing as a unit again.
