Aspo must be pulling his hair out....oh wait a minute! The defending and goalkeeping is U13 level. I'm 60 in a couple of weeks and I'd have stopped both goals.

I know I'll get slaughtered for it BUT we're really not having any luck/bounce of the ball at all. When you're down amongst the dead men it seems like everything goes against you!!

They're no great shakes and Vale have had most of the play, they've had two shots, scored two goals. Awful defending by Vale, looked to me like Lainton at fault for both.

 

Vale just seem always to be a second away from a defensive mistake, diabolical defending.

Give Lainton the benefit of the doubt for the 1st, may have been unsighted - tho it'd have been nice to see him make an effort. But made a hash of the 2nd.

 

Same old, same old. Pedestrian midfield. Tonge overhit a corner, then 2 mins later did the same with a free kick, both sailing miles out of play. Before finishing off the half nicely with an awful free kick that went harmlessly several yards wide. Mind you, at least that was a shot. The only others I can remember were Pope's pen and, seriously, a Lainton kick out oh his hands.

On the plus side, Hannant is showing slimpses of quality - a few nice touches, clever little balls and just won a free kick from nowhere. Could be a find with a bit of experience and a pre-season.

Agree that the manager picks the team and formation he needs, but during the week he may need help with the training side of things. He would tell the defensive coach, this is what I want you to work on. Other coaches this is what I want you to do. He then oversees everything and deals with other duties the manger has to do. One of those would be trying to prise open Smurfs sweetie jar.

 

This isn’t the NFL we dont have an offensive and defensive coach. 🤣
