Fair enough he is their play and on loan to Vale.Maybe with him just coming back from injury they don't want him rushed back to quick. That their choice.

A good promising player.Could another club be interested in him and a deal has been sorted ready for January.Have we seen the last of him?

It seems odd to me that any manager would allow another team/manager dictate who he can pick to play.

Agree. Unless there is a transfer deal lined up.But at the end of the day he is their player and only on loan to Vale.Nothing is ever easy at Vale.

Melv... I understand he isnt ours and their possible concerns but it still seems an oddity that a manager would agree to be hog tied by another club/manager.

That’s the way the loan system works, it works the same way for us when we loan players out.

Sent from my iPhone using the onevalefan mobile app

The obvious difference being that the players we would like to loan out we dont want back [with exceptions]

I understand a call back clause, even a cup tied restriction... but being able to dictate how long a player can play still seems unreasonable to me.... does aspin have to phone all the relevant managers to ask permission to play a full 90+ minutes?

In my opinion it not only affects the managers choice who to select but also his decisions regarding substitutes who will replace the player when his time is up and, importantly, the tactics the manager can employ.

Ultimate our injury record hasn’t been great the past 18 months so maybe AFCB are wary that players have come back quicker and have been pulling up against so are dictating? Sure I read Ben had been away for treatment too so guess AFCB have been assisting in his treatment.

I’d expect us to look after our interests too!

See I Hugill scored yesterday. If, and its a big if, he moves in january we really need to be negotiating a deal to sign Whitfield (and any others for that matter) and need to be doing it now a) before anyone else gets in and b) before the price gets ramped up. Also, Callum Guy anyone?

I can understand bournmouths position it just seems strange to me that a manager would hog tie himself

Seems strange Geo. I wonder if the loan is fully funded by Bournemouth ergo they retain 'executive powers' re. when and against whom he can play.

Then again, I could be thinking through the holy in my gardening hat
