I think general consensus centres around the likes of Ainsworth, Coleman et al, managers who have experience in L2, which is probably what we need. Managers out of work include the likes of Chris Powell, Justin Edinburgh, Who wouldn't be suitable, however I do think Martin Allen wouldn't be a bad shout, for the situation were currently in.

Realistically, how this season has started, I don't think the prospect of promotion should be worth thinking about, we need an experienced manager to steady the ship, and focus on FL survival, I can see why fans are for Micky returning, but personally I am unsure about it, Nigel Adkins would probably be decent, all in all I think it boils down to whether they can work with norman.

We are in our worst league position for many years. However I have seen worse players at the Vale than some of the current squad. I think an experienced manager coming in has something to work with . Michael Brown played square pegs in round holes and did not get the best out of the players he has, something hopefully an experienced and organised manager will do.

Looks like Billy Davies in the interim, due to his long connection with Ned Kelly (PNE, Forest, Derby).

Personally think that'd be a good appointment. Had a lot of success at Championship level and hopefully can get us getting the basics right again, with a bit of fire.

Robbie Fowler has just got his UEFA Pro licence. Might consider the Vale alongside an experienced mentor. Has contacts and he owes me massively as I tried to get him to go to the Vale when he was in my class and school team.

I asked Liverpool scouts to turn up when he went to Liverpool school boys trial and he got signed. Maybe he could buy the club.
