I don't think any of us know the size of the budget but it most likely has been reduced due to having to pay off so many of Bruno's signings...

 

You don't know...then assume that the most likely effect is the most negative one?

 

I didn't "Assume" anything, note the words "Most likely" in the sentence you quote, any thoughts on what their inclusion gives to the meaning of the sentence? If (note this word) the money has reduced the playing budget then I don't see that as positive for PVFC, perhaps you do but then you argued Bruno and his overseas signings were a positive thing and seemingly still lament him and his follies leaving the club.

 

Maybe (maybe...because I don't know) Smurf stood by what he said about putting right his mistakes, and paid the players off himself which would have had no impact on the playing budget? Key words? We don't know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Whether Smurf stood by it or not, that money could have gone into the club instead of going out the door with the only benefit to the club of disposal of players who weren't good enough even for Lge 2 and who MB didn't want.

 

Key words; Money could have gone into the club, at the end of the day there is only one pot of money and only so much of it in that pot. There is no bottomeless pit.

Done - Goalscorer

 

Hussey- Very good set piece delivery if a little suspect

 

Tutte- has very good passing ability

 

Kay - Is slow as a carthorse and always looks prone to a mistake.

 

Mayor - Skilful creative player one of the best players at Bury.

 

Based on when I have seen these play plus one of my mates is a Bury fan. He would be absolutes gutted if Mayor left.

 

I would be very surprised if we signed any of these players.

I see that Stevenage signed Joe Martin yesterday after his release by Millwall. 6'0, 28yo left back with a ton of league experience. I'd have had him at Vale.

It tends to be very hard to get London players out of London. Its a lot easier to convince players to sign along the M6 corridor and with the opening of the A50 out as far as Nottingham.

Excellent point JRC. I too thought that Martin was an ideal fit, but irrespective of the size of Stevenage he would have to uproot his family, find schools for kids ( if he has any ) to come North, all for maybe a 2 year contract. Think we never think of these things when speculating about players, i have suggested a couple of Plymouth players as signings but geography plays a big part as you rightly say.
