In contrast with these views I think the signings so far are promising and intelligent. Davis was a young and promising player at Port Vale who has played some league games now and is probably a stable League 1 player with potential. Goalie (Rob Lainton) signed is from League 1 level and known to Pope every day in training. Other goalie just signed also looks promising. Winger Montano looks like he has pace and eye for goal. Again probably a stable League 1 player. So, given the resources available I think we are building a side with a balance of experience and youth that can compete at League 2 level effectively if it comes together better as a team than happened last year. I am hoping Brown will be a success, and I don't blame him for relegation last year. In particular I feel that letting our 3 best players leave in January so we failed to score and leaked more goals was a big determinant. So too were injuries. So too were signings of lots of players pre Brown who either did not fit in or were not good enough. So give Brown a chance.
