Here we go again with that old chestnut the winter break. Strange how nearly all the managers calling for it are foreigners. The same creed who introduced diving into the British game and now want police protection and personal body guards for all players whilst playing (satire, something else the foreign legion don’t get) There was a time when what the supporter wanted mattered. Sadly, those days have long since gone along with the British sense of fair play, something else abandoned by our oversea’s fiscal mercaneries.

You’re right ! But the reason everyone remembers him some 40+ years later is that he stuck out like a sore thumb as he was the ONLY one. More’s the pity that isn’t the same scenario now.

I agree with you, it frustrates me no end. When I see big lads like Popey falling over and looking over at the ref after being hit with the force of a feather it riles me up. Haldane was the worst I have seen though for us.

Andy Jones (one of my all time favourite Vale players) would run through a brick wall - until he got into the box !He may not have gone down so readily had he not been the penalty taker !

A good day so far in the Prem with wins for Huddersfield and Newcastle.

I’ve now seen Spuds, the Bin Dippers, Manure and Man City live at SJP and City are streets ahead of the rest of them. Newcastle were outstanding today - defended like demons all over the pitch and had some decent chances as well. At the end of the game all bar 4 of the Manure players went straight down the tunnel and ignored their fans. Disgraceful attitude.
